zfsendtotarget clsid trick

Paypal emailed me to say my account is restricted, but it was a phishing attack.

Then today there was a long conversation between Claudia and an Indian call centre which had Claudia typing commands until she decided she had better things to do and handed me the phone! The operator asked me to open a command prompt and type assoc and see if the id that came up next to zfsendtotarget matched the id that she read out. It matched sure enough but I knew enough to doubt this identified my computer as she claimed so I googled zfsendtotarget and the first match was a scam report. I love google!

I guess I should have been more conscientious about reporting the scam but the call had already wasted a lot of time so i just said I couldn’t see any point in the conversation and the caller hung up.
