ORLOP and PINTLE
So Claudia and Ella and I are back from Perth where Claudia said it was the worst Christmas ever. Right now I don’t think I will ever go back, all too much family tension which seemed to then make Claudia take out her irritation on me. Claudia says I have too high a tolerance for abuse, the abuse in question coming from her aunt that I didn’t even recognise as abuse so I guess that means she is correct. I will talk to a counsellor about it. Then I think we should talk to a counsellor together as the extreme nature of Claudia’s reaction was not warranted as far as I am concerned. It is entirely possible that we will take separate trips overseas in the future as both the trip to New Zealand and this trip caused blow ups that were intolerable.
Christmas lunch was at Indiana in Cottesloe with Jeanne and Dan and Ruby Rose and Judy. It was a return to Indiana after our wedding lunch there in January. The meal was very pleasant and of course the view and environs were very amenable. Dan said our Christmas tree was small having seen a picture of it on Facebook. I think this is accurate, our tree is small. It upset Claudia though who chose to take it as a personal affront. Having drawn me aside to say that we wouldn’t go back to Dan’s after lunch I was meant to have realised that making fun of our Christmas tree is abuse. Then as we were leaving Dan when Claudia was commenting on how big Ella’s feet are getting, Dan said that Claudia used to throw her feet out in front of her as she was walking. Claudia took this as aggressive abuse. When we were walking to the car Claudia said how it was aggressive and abusive it was and I made the mistake of not agreeing. I thought it was rude when drawn for my assessment. I didn’t think it was worth making a fuss over. Because I didn’t agree it was abuse later that night Claudia said we should split up.
We did a few things in Fremantle like go to the ship wreck museum where I saw a pintle and read what a orlop is. I guess you could say the trip was educational.
