dad hospitalised

Dad is in hospital for depression and drinking. He expects to be there for a few weeks. While this is dreadful news I guess it does present an opportunity to talk to him about selling the country house and moving to something more manageable. He is not coping with the house cleaning and so on. It won’t be any good for him to get well and then move back into a depressing situation.

He asked me not to tell Barbara on account of he couldn’t face her questioning. That will present a strange situation as it is not like she will never find out. Anna is over Sunday week and I expect Barbara will find out then if not before.
