religion /relationship
since the beginning of time man has always wanted to figure things out…its inate…and that quality has its benefits…but it also has its negatives…
one of those negatives is man’s desire to understand God.. the hows…the whys… understanding God is beyond logic and its why most people refuse to commit… things of the spirit can’t be understood by the mind… they are in direct contrast…
but man in his wisdom ‘has’ to understand…and so religion is born…never God’s intention…its man’s… the dos and don’ts….the vain repitition… the physical attendance at a weekly services… doing the "right" things…but not necessarily for the "right" reasons.. doing the correct things on the outside…but the heart is far from God….
God has always been about one’s heart… not valuing attendance….or good works….or how u dress…even tho all have their importance…but above all else…He wants the heart… He wants a relationship…one on one… to listen as we pour out our dreams and fears….
God hates religion….but loves relationships… if we really believe in God…do we think that He is that ignorant that he accepts our offering of attendance on a Sunday morning but ignores our lifestyles and hearts desires on a Friday or Saturday night??….just know He looks at the whole body of work in our lives…
what does he see when He looks at your heart?….
I’m a huge believer in Jesus Christ and in my Catholic Church, however I do NOT appreciate you noting in my diary as a POSER. Now please, do not bother me again. Bless you!-

You know, I wondered about this too… recently discussed this type thing with a very scientific-minded friend of mine. We both find it unsettling that a person could live their whole life going against the bible and the words, and such, just to repent on their death bed and all of their sins are forgiven. As if the death bed repenting is a get out of hell free card. Oddly, I find more believers in organized religion in my female readers and more non-believers in my male readers (and I’d probably say I have close to a 50/50 split).

*random noter* okay, so here’s a question, if God hates religion, why are we supposed to go to church on sunday? if he looks at us as a whole, then if we are serious believers and we try our best to do well through Christ, why does it matter so much if we go to church on sunday?
