you had to be there

I wish I had a picture that could capture the sweetness of last night.  After Kory and I went to the Rocky Mountain Revue (summer league basketball-Jazz hosting) we stpooed by his parents house to drop off his brother.  Jase was outside helping grandma water the plants.  He was being a total brat, but we finally went inside.  He had tried taking off his shirt and putting it on again by himself and really struggled.  When he finally took off his shirt for the 3rd time, I made him take it downstairs and put it in his room.  He threw it on the floor (which he knows it NOT where it goes) and I firmed up my voice and told him to put it on Mama’s bed (he and mama share a room) since I couldn’t see a laundry basket.  He doesn’t like it when I talk to him in a firm voice, but then he wanted me to pick him up and not put him down.  So, we sat at the kitchen counter–he was on the counter facing me, me on the barstool) and he started playing with my hair.  He was just so calm and sweet (as opposed to being bratty earlier) and sat there and styled (yes, styled!) my hair for like 5 minutes at least.  He was twisting it and pretending to scoop up gel from the counter to put it in my hair! It was soooooo cute.  I just enjoyed having a "moment" with the nephew! When he finished twisting my hair, he said "I tisted it!"  SO CUTE!!  It was one of those "you had to be me and be there" moments, but grandma was happy that he was sitting so still and concentrating so hard on doing my hair.

I’m also really happy because Kory and I had a good discussion last night about Grad school and a little of that conversation shifted to having kids, but nothing too serious yet.

That’s all!
