Just an update…nothing too exciting

I haven’t written for a while because OD made me change my password and I kept forgetting it and was too lazy to retreive it from email and come back to this site to write something.  Plus my blog is more fun! Sorry to all the avid OD fans.

Two weeks from tomorrow we start at the new school! It’s done…except for my classroom. *cry* Diane said that when it came around to doing cabinetry work, my room got left off the plans.  So, I have 24 cubbies (I should have 32), cupboards under my window, and my closet with no lock (it should have a lock like all the other teachers’ closets).  I’m missing my other cubbies and lots of shelves that go above the cubbies. Diane also said she doesn’t know when all that will get installed. *sigh* I was totally looking forward to all the extra storage space.  I just have to make do, I guess.

So this week and next will be packing like crazy.  We have to label EVERYTHING.  Literally, all of my kids’ chairs and desks have to be indiviually labeled if I want them to make it to my classroom.  Even my phone is labeled. That’s the most tedious part.  Packing is not so bad…it acutally gets me excited for the new place. Plus, since I’m not a seasoned (5+ years of teaching) teacher yet, I don’t have much, mostly books and math supplies.  It’s hard deciding what to keep out before we move. Okay, I’ll stop boring all of you with moving details.  I’m really excited to go to the new place!

It rained like crazy on Saturday and we could probably go swimming in the big puddle outside our door.  I don’t think it stopped raining until this morning, actually. But, it stopped and we have a few days to dry out before the next storm supposedly comes our way next weekend.
