lent

well tomorrow is the start of the lenten season. and its not like i really care about that ritualistic religious crap about giving up something for 40 days in order to attain a “spiritual closeness” to god.  But it is a rather interesting idea… giving up something that consumes a large part of your life… and even if i don’t believe in a so-called god, i figure that giving up something could help me discover myself spiritually, by allowing me to concentrate more on myself. (or something to that effect, not sure if that makes any sense). at any rate, religious mumbo jumbo or no, i’ve decided that this year for lent, i’m giving up my regular online gaming site  *gasp* i’ve calculated that i’ve spent an average of 5-7 hours a day for the last two months on this site, which has been a severe waste of time, which could have been better spent with my family, or friends, or reading, or doing homework… or even just thinking, listening to music, or sleeping (i’ve spent several weekends up until 3am or later on that site).. at any rate, that’s all i have to say about that.
