i hate my job :-( *insult to injury.
Actually, that’s not really true. It’s never really true. My JOB itself, i love. It’s the system that I hate. The way things are done.
Why is it, that in two weeks, I can be scheduled for 8 shifts, 6 of which I’m told to not even bother coming in for, and 1 that I’m sent home an hour early from, and I’m expected to just take this in stride. And yet when I try to get a single day off for my birthday so I can ENJOY my birthday, it becomes a major issue. And then a few days later, I’m called in to work over four hours before my shift starts, and expected, on a moment’s notice, to be able to drop everything and come in to work.
What. The. Fuck. seriously?
I told her that I had dinner in the oven and that I’d be at least an hour. The truth is, dinner was in the fridge, and I was planning on waiting til around 5 or so to fire up the oven since, you know, i didn’t have to be in to work until 8. After I got off the phone, I turned on the oven since I knew it would take forever and a day to preheat, and took the dinner out of the fridge so that it wouldn’t have to try to cook from a refridgerated temperature. 15 minutes later I wasn’t even hungry. I covered the dish back up and shoved it back in the fridge, and turned off the oven.
15 minutes after that, I still am sitting here, because there is no way in hell i’m going in there even a second before I said I would.
Even Redner’s used to treat me better than this. At the moment I would give anything to work at Redner’s again.
I can’t do this anymore.
And yet, I still can’t bring myself to quit.
*edit*: To add insult to injury, today I discovered why my last paycheck was so miniscule (only $30 for two weeks) aside from the fact that I only worked 3 shifts in those two weeks. In an attempt to give me a raise (from $2.65 to over $3/hr for serving), they accidentally changed it in the computer so that I was only getting paid $3/hr to work behind the counter. I’m supposed to be paid $6.50 for counter. So not only was I only getting paid $3/hr to work on the counter, I was STILL only getting paid $2.65 on the shift that I waitressed.
we won’t even TALK about the fact that I was supposed to get this raise like, 4 months ago.
I am like, so done.
