i had a dream…**had another

the other night. It was rather disturbing, except for the fact that I was not disturbed by it at all. I knew throughout the entire dream that it was, in fact, a dream, and remained completely calm, even when I was informed that my mother had died, and the circumstances surrounding her death were unclear.

Even though I never saw her dead body, I knew that she had died in the kitchen, while standing at the sink. At first I thought it was something like a heart attack, or an aneurysm. I walked through the house (which was actually my old house), past the sink, looking for clues as to her death. Nothing. The house was clean. I left the house and walked down the street, allegedly to where my father worked, which in my dream was the high school.

I was standing along the side of the road, by a red convertible, when my father walked out of the building, holding a load of freshly drycleaned clothes. He handed the pile to me, and I saw the top shirt, which was either black or blue, had a slit at chest level, as though made by a knife. He pointed this out to me, while mentioning that it was the shirt my mother had been wearing. I found it odd that he’d dryclean her clothes only hours after her suspicious death, and yet said nothing. I still was undisturbed.

And then I awoke.

*edit* I only felt the need to document this dream because it’s the first one i’ve remembered upon awakening in literally months. I intend to attempt an interpretation of it a bit later, but for now I must go to class

*edit 2*

  • Death To dream about the death of a loved one, suggests that you are lacking a certain aspect or quality that the loved one embodies. Ask yourself what makes this person special or what do you like about them. It is that very quality that you are lacking in your own relationship or circumstances. Alternatively, it indicates that whatever that person represents has no part in your own life.
  • (Childhood) Home To see your childhood home or a home that you no longer live in, suggests your own desires for building a family. It also reflects aspects of yourself that were prominent or developed during the time you lived in that home. You may experience some feelings or unfinished expression of emotions that are now being triggered by a waking situation.
  • Sink To see a sink in your dream. represents your feelings and how you control your emotions. You may need to cleanse yourself of past feelings and start fresh. Consider also the common phrase “everything but the kitchen sink” which refers to a situation where you have almost everything that you can possible want or need. The symbol may also be a pun on “sinking” or drowning.
  • Car (parked) To see a parked car in your dream, suggests that you need to turn your efforts and energies elsewhere. You may be needlessly spending your energy in a fruitless endeavor. Alternatively, a parked car my symbolize your need to stop and enjoy life.
ConvertibleTo see or dream that you are in a convertible, refers to your glamorous attitude. You are showing off your power and influence.
RedRed is an indication of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power, courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual connotations. Red is also the color of danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges. Perhaps you need to stop and think about your actions.

There are a couple of things in my dream that i thought were significant, but couldn’t find in this online dream dictionary. I have a more complete dictionary at home, that I’ll try to check later. Even so, I have an idea of what this dream is referring to. Although, *smiles* dream interpretation is much like horoscopes and fortune cookies. Vague explanations can appear to apply to your specific situation with just a bit of extrapolation.

I had another dream last night, although this one was drug-induced *laugh* (I’d taken some NyQuil before sleeping).

Right off the bat I knew it was a dream, because I was at Starbucks. You won’t catch me dead at a Starbucks (possible starbucks mini-rant to come later). Anyway, I had ordered an italian soda (vanilla cream) which I don’t even think starbucks serves (although we did have them at Xando’s). I specified to the guy taking my order that I didn’t want whipped cream on my drink, because Starbucks puts whipped cream on EVERYTHING.

A girl began to make my drink–a different person than had taken my order. I watched her make it, and after mixing the syrup and soda water, she put ice in it, and then just a bit of half and half (the cream part of the cream soda). Instead of grabbing a lid next though, she reached for the whipped cream carafe. “No whipped cream,” I said again, thinking maybe the guy that took my order had just forgotten to tell her. She said, “okay,” and continued to pick the carafe out of the bucket of ice it sat in. I say again, “No whipped cream.” This time she pauses, before glancing at me and saying, “Oh. Okay,” and continues to hold the carafe up. I say yet again “Please, no whipped cream,” and she nods as she pulls the trigger, squirting a small dollap of cream onto the top of my drink.

I leapt across the counter, barely saving my poor drink from her whipped cream assault, and grabbed the carafe from her other hand. I hit her over the head with it, careful not to spill my soda, as I screamed, “I SAID NO FUCKING WHIPPED CREAM YOU GODDMANED IDIOT.”

That dream got my heart racing more than the dream with my mother dying. I think that’s proof enough that Starbucks is my worst nightmare. *laughs* I’m pretty sure all that dream means is that I hate starbucks, but what the heck, lets see what it could possibly mean, shall we? *smirk*

  • coffee To dream that you are drinking or need your coffee, suggests that you should gain some insight and knowledge before making a decision or tackling some project/relationship. You may be acting too hasty and need to slow down. Alternatively, it may imply a need for you to change your routine. (apparently coffee is important enough to be a symbol, but soda isn’t.)
  • cream (there was no whipped cream) To see or eat cream in your dream, indicates that you appreciate the minor and sweet things in life. It is symbolic of nurturance and richness.
  • ignoreTo dream that you are ignoring someone or being ignored, represents some aspect of yourself which you are not paying enough attention to. Alternatively, it may reflect your real waking experiences of being ignored by that person.
  • hit To dream that you hit something or someone, is symbolic of unexpressed anger and aggression. You tend to keep your negative feelings inside instead of expressing them in a healthy way.
beating To dream that you are beating someone, indicates that you are shoving your own views and opinions on others.

Hmm…. yup, i hate starbucks. *smiles*
