grownup survey *le gasp*

A couple of my faves have done this, and I think it’s time for me to do it too. It’s specifically labeled as an “adult” survey, which i suppose is fitting that my 20th birthday is in only 3 days, so i’m like, almost a grownup or something. enjoy.

THE GROWN-UP SURVEY

Members of Open Diary have been doing surveys almost from the start. Most of them, though, seem to have been written by and for teens and tend to be US-centric. This one is designed for people who have moved beyond those days, regardless of location.

There are no rules. You can tag or not. You can do all the questions at once or in sections, skip over any you just don’t care for, and answer specifically or vaguely, depending on your preference. You won’t have bad luck if you don’t pass this along to 5 people in the next 10 minutes. The only instructions are to cut and paste these instructions and questions into a text editor or new entry, and begin answering the questions.

The purpose of doing something like this is tell those who read your diary – whether they’ve been following you for a while or just found you – something new about who you are and what you think.

PART I – PERSONAL

1. Post a recent photo or describe yourself (physical appearance).
I am 5’2″, I have short, very dark brown hair, and very dark brown eyes, and an olive complexion. I am curvy in all the right places, except for my thighs which I personally think are a little too thick. “chub rub” is not fun. Oh. and I have a “dazzling smile” (to quote one of my favorite faves).

2. Where do you live (city, state/province, region or country)?

I “live” (go to school in) Baltimore, MD. My home is, and always will be in south eastern pennsylvania.

3. Are your parents still alive? Write something current about your parent(s) or a last memory of them.

Yes, my parents are still alive, despite my best efforts to wish death upon them during my “teenage angst” years. ;-). My last memory is talking to them on the phone over the weekend. It was actually the first time I’d talked to my daddy in weeks–I talk to my mom usually at least once a week, but don’t talk to dad as often, mostly becuase of the time of day I tend to call. I miss them lotses. 🙁

4. Do you have any siblings? If so, write one sentence about each of them.

I have two sisters:
Mandi–is one year younger than me, and getting ready to have her first child. She’s pretty much been my best friend for my entire life–I don’t ever remember her not being there.
Corryn–is four years younger than me, and is now and always will be my “baby sister.” Even though she’s about four inches taller than me.

5. Any children or grandchildren? If so, write one sentence about each of them.

Not as of yet. Although as I just mentioned, I’m about to be an auntie!

6. Any pets? You know the drill.

two dogs (punkin and simba), two cats (kali and mitzi), i lost count of the fish–the one named celebdil is mine, the others my sister won from a carnival, and i’m not sure which ones are still alive.

7. What is your ancestry (if you can trace it to other countries)?

As I understand it, on my mom’s side: French, British, German/PA Dutch. Dad’s side: British, PA dutch, Native American, African American.

8. What celebrity do you look like?

MyHeritage.com says Rachel Bilson on 3 of 4 pics I tried.

9. If you were given the power and ability to realize one secret desire, what would it be?

to bring and keep everyone i care about close to me. okay, honestly though, my first thought was ‘orgasm on command without even touching.’

10. What would you like your legacy to be – how do you want to be remembered?

I want to be remembered as someone who cared more about her family and friends, and the world than she did her self. Kind of like Mother Teresa, only better dressed 😉

PART II – CHILDHOOD

11. When (date, year, decade or century) and where were you born?

October 22, 1986 at 5:46PM in Phoenixville Hospital.

12. Where did you live during your early childhood?

For a little while we lived in Malvern, although I don’t remember that. Then we moved to Spring City, where we lived until I was 5, after which we moved to East Greenville where I still live.

13. What were those place(s) like?

I remember in Spring City, mom wouldn’t let us play on the neighborhood playgrounds becuase they were littered with broken hypodermic needles and razor blades.
East Greenville used to be this cute tiny little town in the middle of nowhere when I was growing up… now we have a Wal*Mart. ‘Nuff said, neh?

14. What was happening in your country or in the world when you were a child?

I dunno, i was pretty clueless as a kid. Still am sometimes *laugh* I remember Clinton’s first election, because I had an argument in first grade with this kid on the bus (who was, ironically, my “boyfriend”) about it. I said I was going to vote for Clinton, and he got all mad at me because Clinton was “gonna raise all our taxes!!”

15. What is your earliest memory?

I was three years old. In fact, had just turned. It was sometime between my birthday and christmas. I’d gotten an Oopsy Daisy doll for my birthday (the ones that crawl, and fall down, and cry?)… well my sister (who was about 2 at the time) decided to sit on it. And broke it. Traumatizing.

16. What were your parents like at that time?

Um… i dunno, same as they are now? only my mom still smoked then, and my dad still drank scotch instead of beer, i think. Also my dad might’ve (or might not’ve) had a moustache. He changes it up every few years. I don’t even remember if he has or doesn’t have one right now.

17. What are your fondest/least favorite memories of childhood?

I used to like school. I miss that. Dad used to set off illegal fireworks in our backyard on the 4th of July… also miss that. I used to get poison ivy every summer, sometimes two or three times a summer. I don’t miss that at all.

18. Did you have one lasting ‘best friend’ or a series or group of good friends?

Olivia came the closest–I was friends with her from 1st to 3rd grade, but we moved to a different neighborhood in 3rd grade, and she was homeschooled, so we never really talked much after that. I didn’t have a lasting group of friends again until high school.

PART III – SCHOOL DAZE

19. What was your high school like?

What a vague question. I don’t know… it was like high school.

20. Did you go to college?

I am in college as we speak

21. Any post-graduate education or degrees?

Not yet applicable

22. What was/were your role(s) in high school (e.g., preppie, athlete, geek, class clown, invisible)?

I was weird. I was gifted. I was a cheerleader who dated band geeks. I sang in the choir (which in my school was “cool”
