Andy:“What’s the difference between birch beer and root beer?”
Waitress: “I think birch beer is sweeter?”
Me: “Birch beer is made from the bark and twigs of the birch tree, whereas root beer is made from the roots of various plants.”
~~Blank stares from the whole table~~
Me: “I… I’ve made homemade birch beer before.”

Later

**feeding David a little of the whipped cream from my hot chocolate**
David: “That is quite good”
Me: “Yea, it is, but mine’s better. I make my own whipped cream”
David: *pause* “You should be a–“
Me: “Yea, I know….”

This past weekend I visited the Culinary division of the Art Institute of New York.
