coming up for air

This past week was hell on a stick. Little Italy was having its San Gennaro Feast, which meant extra hours for everybody because of increased business. Oh, did I ever mention that’s where I work now? It’s a restaurant in Little Italy by the name of ***(name removed for discretion because i’ve since written some potentially damning things). Don’t stalk me, please :-P. So anyway, as I was saying, I was working mad extra hours, and on top of that, it was my finals week for the Summer quarter. The only way I even got any homework/studying done was by completely not even sleeping on two separate nights. Yea, that was fun. Anyways, time for answers to some questions, which I had requested in my last entry. Don’t worry, you can still ask something if you want :-P.

1) What are the biggest changes in your life in the past year? Do you think they were for better or worse?

Obviously the biggest change in my life was dropping out of JHU, completely changing my major, enrolling in the Art Institute, and moving to New York. I have yet to regret that decision, and my life right now is going better than I ever could have dreamed. For the first time in a very long time, I can honestly say that I am completely and totally happy.

2) What’s the biggest difference about living in NYC than everywhere else you’ve lived.

Two words: Public. Transportation. Two more words: Excessive. Taxation.

3) Of all your goals, which do you feel your [sic] closest to achieving?

Graduating from a post-secondary institution.

What’s your favorite and least favorite part of your life right now?

My job. Answers both questions. *laugh.* I like working where I work for the most part, and I’m totally stoked about having my foot in the door in the restaurant business, but I wish I had more responsibility (I’m only a cashier). I also wish that the GM would stop making comments about what/how often I’m eating, and I wish the waiters would stop leering at me. But seeing as how I’m only one of three females in the entire place, not including the owner, it’s somewhat to be expected. Oh also, I have zero free time between work and school. Zero. But the money’s good. I think I might make more than my mom does.

That is nice you got a job at a resturant. How long have you had the resturant job for? You said you would like to have more responsibilites at the job you have besides being a cashier so what would you like to be doing.
