Just when everything starts looking up…

Everything comes crashing down again. Things were looking bright for our move. We weren’t going got have to wait as long as we thought to get the cats over there. Just 120 days from whenever the lab gets the blood samples for all the kitties and they’re getting micro-chipped and blood drawn on Monday. So you figure about a week or 2 from Monday the 120 day wait would start and we could get them there early April. Great! Hooray! Happy day!

Until today. When I got out all (well, almost all, but I’ll get to that) the rabies vaccine certificates that we’d need to send so that we could make and have copies for ourselves. I only have 5. I should have 6 (2 for each kitty). I’m missing Eb’s most recent certificate. I don’t know how the hell I lost it. I’m so damn organized about their records. Where did it go?! On top of that (and I already sent an email to our old vets asking if they could send me a new one) I realize that 3 of the certificates aren’t valid according to Hawai’i’s rules b/c they’re computer print outs and not “certificates”. 2 of them aren’t valid because they weren’t effing SIGNED. And 2 of them aren’t valid because they don’t have the Vaccine Lot Expiration date on them.

I’m going to have to call THREE different vet offices on Monday to see if this can be fixed and QUICK. I’m seriously doubting it. I think if we want this to happen we’re back to having to get all new rabies shots so we can have valid certificates. Which means we’re back to the whole 6 months of waiting for new shots, wait periods, blood draws and more waiting.
