H’ok, so…
So I managed to hi-jack a computer with which to update. Huzzah! (I’ve been saying that waaaaayyyy too much lately. I think I should stop.) In any case. Update. Yes.
I MET MOO!!!!! Oh my gosh can I tell you how exciting this is to me? It’s like the highlight of my entire 3 months here! She is, in a word, freakinawesome. Yes that’s one word. Don’t debate me here. Because she is so awesome her awesomeness can combine 2 words into 1. 🙂 I was actually pretty nervous on the drive to her place. 2 hours to totally psych myself out thinking of all the stupid things I could do or say is a long time. Lol. And I thought of a LOT of stupid things I could have ended up saying. 🙂 I think my nervousness showed at first when I walked up to her door and we said “Hi!” and I totally didn’t know what to do! My brain had this spasm of “OMG! What do I DO!?” and I gave her a hug and immediately my brain said to me “Well what the hell did you do THAT for?! That was stupid you moron! You just met her! What are you doing being so awkward!?!?!??!?!!” Luckily I think my brain eventually calmed down and I became way more normal and relaxed.
I went up early so we could hang out and meet and talk and I’m glad I did. She’s really awesome (I’ve said this already, I know, but seriously, she is). I “helped” her make some banana bread and put together a veggie tray for game night. I say “helped” b/c I proved my idiocy when I asked how to fuckin’ cut broccoli. Lol. Yes, I admit, I had never done anything with broccoli before that day other than microwaving it from the freezer. But at least I made it a point to make it look pretty on the platter!
Later in the evening [Cinnamon] and her husband arrived along with friends of Moo and John (who is really funny btw!) and we played Quelf and Scattegories. I must say, I had an amazing time. 🙂 I’m so glad I didn’t psych myself out so much that I stayed home and that I did, in fact, make the drive because it was so worth it. 🙂
In other news: We have a house in HI! Our stuff is still putzing along on its merry way and is slated to arrive the 2nd week of April so right now Hubby has loaner furniture. He sent pictures and it’s really funny because it’s all covered in plastic. Even the bed! Hahaha! The crappy thing is that they told him we will NOT be provided with a washer and dryer as we were told in Texas. This makes me pretty pissed. There’s a loaner set that we get for 60 days but after that they take them back and it’s up to us to get our own. We think this is because we’re living in Army housing instead of Air Force housing and their rules are different. So Hubby is going to talk to the AF people and see what the deal is. When we were getting ready to leave TX the guy told us that even if we lived off base the AF would provide us with a W/D so we’ll see what they say on Monday.
I’m really antsy to get there now. I know I was super pissed that we got orders there (and still kind of am to a degree) but I’m tired of my family being seperated and feeling like a single parent while Hubby is off having the time of his fuckin’ life galavanting all over the island. It just doesn’t seem fair.
I am looking forward to decorating though. 🙂 I’m going to do Monkey’s bathroom (the full bath in the hallway) in a monkey theme. 🙂 Target has a set that’s so adorable, shower curtain and all! Not sure what I’ll do with our full bath in our bedroom yet. And there’s even a half bath on the 1st floor! Talk about a lot of bathrooms to clean. 🙂 But we have 3 bedrooms and that’s the important part. And a laundry room! That’s big! On the SECOND floor! With all the bedrooms! SO happy about that. 🙂
So that’s about it. The weather has been absolutely beautiful here the past few days. I hope it keeps up b/c it makes my life a little easier to handle when the weather is gorgeous and I can take Monkey outside to run around full tilt. 🙂
Hope everyone has a Happy Easter!
