the tub overflowed like in the movies
I never would have believed that hub and I would take walks together. He never wanted to, and always complained about it. Every so often I would talk him into it. Lately he has been walking with me. Well, he wants to run, so we go to the hs track. he runs, i walk. much like when dau wanted to run. she would run, i would walk. then when we both wanted to walk we would walk all over town.
update on the nephews: this weekend the dad wanted to take the new wife and his sons to the lake. the new wife did not want the boys along. the boys said they didn’t want to go. the dad said you are going anyway. the wife said, i am not going with anyone who doesn’t want to go. so guess what? the dad took the boys and the wife stayed home. I hope she learns from this, but my guess is that she will be mad that he chose his sons over her. he tried to point out to her that every weekend they leave town and leave the boys at home, and even during the week a lot. She does not understand that he loves his sons and would like her to try to accept them. I don’t think she will. she just wants their dad and nothing to do with them if she didn’t have to. i feel sorry for the dad, but he should have known. he did know, he just chose to think it would be different somehow.
As I tried to point out to her when she was complaining to me about it one time, you can’t change ppl. she was saying how he was so much better to his boys that he is to her. My observations are that he bends over backward for her and the boys just have to deal. I think she has that backwards.
Anyway, that is the update. she stayed home and I am sure everyone that will listen will hear about how awful he is to her. I think it will only reflect bad on her cuz most ppl know that he is not that kind of a person. but i dunno.
OH-I just have to share this! It is kinda funny, but not really. Last Mon, hub went to a volleyball game. Son went to his friends, so I went to work. after work I was going to meet some ppl to help set up something at the school for the next day (a positive message to high school kids in a film thing which was very good by the way). I decided to go home first and get a jacket. I get home and I hear the vent in the bathroom running. Didn’t think much of it, but thought I heard the water running. I called for hub. no answer. called again. no answer. looked in the bathroom and it was 2 inches deep with water. the tub was overflowing. called hub on his cell phone. where are you? Oh, I am downtown shopping. Um, the bathroom is flooded. Oh, I’ll be right there. So I go in with my socks on and turn off the tub (before I made the phone call) pulled the plug, took a dustpan and started scooping water off the vinyl floor. there is carpet on part of the floor and it was like a lake. I scooped all I could and then we took every towel in the house and sopped up what we could. It was even wet downstairs below this room.
Absent minded.
If I hadn’t come home, it would have run until who knows when he would have come home. I think it would have been better for him to catch it himself, but I found it. Sigh. Anyway, he rented a dehumidifier thingy that really sucks the moisture out of the air, and it is nearly dry there (4 days later). It creates a lot of heat and it is already hot in our house as we have no AC. We are getting a heat pump, we think, so next summer we hope to have it be cooler inside. Ahhhhh. Wish we would have had it this last summer. It was the hottest summer I remember since we moved here, and the most humid for here. There is a reason most ppl in our town don’t have AC. Generally, you don’t need it!
Anyway, it was funny. I was glad it was clean water and that the bathroom was pretty clean already. Toilet or sewer water would have been much grosser… I can’t even imagine what REAL flooding would be like, like what went on with the hurricane. That’s why this is almost funny, even tho it kind of caused some damage.
lots new but will write again another day. it is late.
God Bless!
faith hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.
