PERFECT!

I got home from my second 12-hour day at work in a row, it was almost dark and the garage was empty. This means it was easy to get at the lawn mower! So I dashed in, started the mower and as fast as I could I mowed the front yard. It was SO shaggy! Usually there is a car in the garage and the mower is hard to get out. Plus son has always mowed the lawn, so I keep letting it go too long before I mow becuase I never even think of it! Got that done just when it was really too dark to see what I was doing. I have to hope it is OK on the last corner!

Both adjacent neighbors had just mowed so it made my lawn look especially shaggy, even tho each is separated by a driveway, either ours, or theirs. I like that. We have a small yard, easy to mow, and driveway on both sides. Nice.

Dashed into the shower after mowing cuz hub is allergic to grass clippings. Got outta the shower, moved my van which I had parked in the way of the garage so hub could get back in, and the phone was ringing when I got in. Hub called to say he would be home very late and was that ok. YES! Cool! Now I have the rest of the evening to myself, even tho it is already pretty late. Even tho I was looking forward to him coming home, I have so many things I want to do including jumping online. So here I am!

Yes, two 12-hour days in a row! We have had computer techno dudes out helping us install software for the last several weeks, beginning in July. OUr company is separated by 3 buildings. Every week, they would start in what I will call the accounting offices. By the time they were ready to leave, they would come check on us and see if we needed anything. Um. We have no idea what to do. So we went live anyway, and my coworker and I muddled through, until last week. It was critical. We were stuck. How do we do this job, and can you set up my shortcuts so I can find something? Please!

So even tho the guy was NOT going to come out this week, he and the boss came out for 2 days.

Crud, I just burned something on the stove because I am in here typing! Oh well. I am back now.

So we had INTENSE training and I had INTENSE setup issues both days. I have been working like a dog to get things set up so we CAN do our job. All the orders go through our office. It is stupid, I know, but that is what we have to work with. So, my coworker and I both put our phones on DND, do not disturb, which means the calls spin out to someone else or voice mail. Finally the boss is IM’ing us saying ppl can’t reach us. Well, yes, we are busy, they will have to leave a message. We can’t help it. The guys are leaving today and we MUST get to a certain point or we are sunk until they come back next week!

So anyway, it was quiet since the phones don’t even ring when we do that.

The computer dude that was exclusively “ours” said our building was pleasant. The other building is all chaos, friction and a tug of war for power. He came out because he could be exclusively ours for 2 days. Otherwise only the boss guy was coming out by himself. What a great guy. Got us all taken care of. We still have issues, but at least we can do our job. It all starts with us, and why they started on the back end, I will never know.

The person who is the stumbling block to progress in the other office and the rest of us had a short meeting in our bldg Monday. Office mgr said, what problems are we having that computer dudes can address? We all had a short little something or other to contribute and some of us had answers to others problems, even tho ms troublemaker never told me what the solution was, she said she knew how to do what I needed to do. When mgr specifically asked her if she had any issues, she said “x (our exclusive computer dude) can fix my problems.” We think she has a crush on x. Even tho x is just about to propose to his gf.

So anyway, x didn’t get to solve her problems.

They got there Tues AM. 8 o’clock came and went. 8:15, 8:20, I don’t know how late it was and x comes strolling through the door! Yeah! We all said Thank goodness! You are here! We are saved! And, yeah, after intense help, set up and training, we are good to go. We will still have issues, but at least we are not at a complete standstill!

So when the phones weren’t being answered and we said, too bad, it was because we were neglected for weeks, and now it had to happen or all was for nought! It was fun.

Yesterday, I did not take a lunch in my 12-hour day. I had made meatloaf Monday PM so I took some to work knowing I might not want to leave. Today, I took a lunch break cuz I had meds to pick up at the pharmacy. Last night I had a meeting after my 12-hour day, which could have been longer if not for the meeting. I skipped out on the meeting early too, becuase it is supposed to go from 7-8. at 8:10 and 8:15 my kids called. At 8:30, we were going in circles discussing the same things over and over, so I said I had to go. It could have gone on another hour for all I know. Anyway, they just have to get that meeting shorter if they want me there. Last meeting I went to was perfect because we got all business done in less than an hour, and then those who wanted to sit around and visit for another hour did so. I stayed that time because I wasn’t so busy. That was last May, I think.

So, yeah, now I have put in beaucoup overtime, my lawn is mowed, I have my meds, the meeting is over, I have a few hours to myself and I am ready to work tomorrow! PERFECT! Plus I got to talk to both my kids last evening but son was all too moody to really talk. I hope he is ok today. His bill was due today, and that is what his out of sorts, I think. Plus he misses me. LOL. Didn’t get to talk to son in law, but that is ok. He emailed me. I am so blessed.

I still have a lot of work to do just to go forward at work! I hope by the time I leave fri I will be caught up with the current stuff and can begin to look back to the backlog to SEpt 1. Unreal. x is helping with the backlog so by the time I get to it, he may have most of it done! wouldn’t that be sweet. His gf is getting a good guy.

faith hope and love, but the greatest of these is love.

Wow, sounds like you’ve been busy. Glad you got a few hours to yourself!! I miss my son too and he doesn’t call too much, we usually have to call him, and when i catch him on-line he “talks” for a few minutes then goes back to playing his game. Oh well, i guess we learn to treasure the short chats. Hope the rest of your week goes well. >^..^<
