Keep your big mouth shut!
Ooops…ever say something to someone and then regret the entire conversation happened? Well, normally I am careful about what I say (I am a teacher…) and I am just aware. Well today, I took my dog to the dog park (he loves it!!)
I was talking to some people who have the same kind of dog as I do, and then they left….so this other girl sat down who has some pomeranian and something mix…looked nothing like a pomeranian because they have all that poofy hair.
Anyway, she sat down and these dogs kind of got into it a little. I said normally I don’t worry about my dog at the dog park, but there was once this dog there that was a Mastif and something mix…and she was HUGE. The girl asked me if the guy owner was huge too. I said no, the woman was big and the guy was small. (That’s kind of where my mouth needed to NOT go).
Anyway, I keep talking about it with her…this female mastif mix bit my dog right near his eye. The owner chick told me it was because he wasn’t fixed and she didn’t like it. I think its because she was a rescue and you have no idea what those dogs have gone through before you rescue them.
So I tell her how my dog is bleeding and it looks like its his eye because she bit so close to his eye that blood was in his eye. Then the girl was like, oh, was the girl white and the guy black, and I said yes. She’s like, oh I know her, that’s Jess and her dog Paris.
So now I feel like an idiot because I said that the girl was bigger than the guy (not that I was insulting her…but I wouldn’t have said anything if I had know she knew her!!) And I felt like I had to smooth it over, like, they were really nice and checked my dog to make sure that he was okay (which they did).
But it was akward and then I felt stupid and hope I never see them at the dog park again…because who knows if this girl talked to that girl and then I feel like an idiot! Hopefully if I go there and they are back, they don’t remember me. But people there that you talk to tend to remember you.
Oh well…now I’ve learned a lesson to be a lot more careful about what I say to people I don’t know that live in the same area I do and all have dogs that go to the dog park!! Ooops!!!!
