October Snow

Halloween decorations and snow just do not go together. We had 4-5 inches of snow and now temperatures (at night) in the twenties. We certainly were not prepared, as the plow was not on the truck. We did, however, have the lawn furniture inside already. Getting the outside ready for winter is a big job and we do it in pieces.

That poor little ghost is freezing its sheet off!

It was also strange to see so many leaves with the snow.

It was a wet heavy snow and flattened our grasses and did lots of local tree damage.

It broke a large branch of the lilac bush. Many homes were without power (we were lucky) and the worst of it was spotty internet service.

Sure looks like Jan or Feb to me. The area amounts were very strange. High Point, which is fairly close to us (it’s where NY, PA and NJ meet) got 14 inches and some other close towns did not get any snow. Go fig.

Anyway, on to other news – I still have not heard about the job. I’m not too antsy. I wish I knew what the hold up was, as I would love to give notice and move on. (I know, it will be what it will be).

as I sit here looking over the sunny ocean I’m thankful that I see no snow, just lovely sparkles from the sun glinting off the water!!! ….. I just am not a snow person, though it is lovely falling… 🙂

So, sooo beautiful! Of course, I’m jealous- we NEVER get snow down here!

Wow, you got a lot! We just got a quick flurry 🙂 It does look very pretty though… there’s just something about fresh snow on the ground.

wow! 14 inches! In October! Still, you are right – a bit tooo early really. One more month and it’d be normalish. Hope you get some news soon.

Snow before Halloween is just wrong. It cooled off here for a couple of days and we’re back to the high 60’s again. I shouldn’t complain, should I?
