Frightened

I should be on the alert.

Recently, it seems I often met weirdos, and even bad guys.

On the way to school, I met a guy disturbing me and saying something like, "Girl, can I make friend with you? "..

On the way to leave my building, it seemed  there was a noise, and then when I raised my head, and found it was that man making that noise, and he was acting ungraceful.

What’s more, it was a close shave today.

The story goes like that I was recently looking for a language-exchange partner. 
Soon, there was a guy who recommended himself to exchange English with me.

Well, then we started to contact each other via email, and I know that guy was really a English speaker, who could speak a bit Cantonese.  But most of the time, we spoke English in the phone.  Later on, we confirmed a meeting, too.  However, the appointment hasn’t been made until today.

Today afternoon, he suddenly rang me and said he was available the whole afternoon, and asked me if I was available to meet him in a tutorial centre where he worked. 

 I wasn’t sure at that time, since my friend who was also interested in such kind of language exchange activities was not available, by the way, the place was  not accessible, and quite far away from my home.

Finally, I refused to go although he told me he would pick me up, but I suggested another date.

Until that time, I still feel that it was OK.

However, tonight, when he called me again about the place we met, he still insisted that damn tutorial centre, that I mentioned earlier was very far away from both my home and work. 

He claimed that it was quiet  enough to study.  I replied to him that I prefered to some public places, such as canteen in CityU, or a restaurant.   The conversation finally ended in confirming the place later.

I started to feel something wrong and insecure, and tried to think back when I mentioned I’ll bring my friend to go with me, it seemed he didn’t want it.

Now, being frightened, I am not goin’ to meet that guy now. 

I would rather use another safe way to enhance my spoken English, such as net-talking.

Well, for my own safety, I should not easily trust any strangers anymore.
