Sunday

I am off to Walmart in a few minutes.  So far, nobody has needed extra change thi$ weekend.  Maybe I can help out someone tonite.

Have a great week!

P.S.  I had lunch with my son and his family.  I  only get to see them every other weekend because of all our busy schedules.  I think I am going to put in for at least one week-end per month OFF.

Remind me to tell you about what Walmart’s reaction was to my request to take a Leave of Absence for 30 days.  (I wanted to take the month of October off to spend time in GA with my Mom who is 87 years old.)  Keep in mind that I am very part-time (12 hours/week).  I was quite surprised to say the least.  It definitely explains the "high turnover rate" at Walmart.

Every food service job has high turnover. I love Walmart! I can buy twice the groceries at Walmart than I can at Krogers. I used to work in food service a LOT!!!!

I’m sure Walmart is not a very nice employer as I’ve read lots of things about how they pay and promote women less, etc. I would think spending time with your mom would have to take priority considering her age. You can always get a Christmas help type job somewhere else, right? You are SO KIND to want to help others.

My husband works for a Wal-Mart distribution center. They treat their employees much better than I hear about at a Wal-Mart retail store. I can only imagine their reaction.

I don’t know about 30 day at one time but in Wisconsin they were pretty accomendation to my Nephew and his college schedule.. or evenh when he wanted to take 2 weeks off.

Have heard lots of bad things about how WM treats its help, but as a former employer myself, I can that a month off is asking quite a lot.
