homeless
One life. One day. And everything can. change.
In a matter of minute(s)econds everything can fall apart.
Our story. On the street.
Good. Bad. Everything.
I have been blessed to have some truly amazing people, with even more amazing souls, in my life. They continually and genuinely care more for others who are suffering, than for themselves. It’s breath taking to watch them be in their own personal struggles with money debt, job conflicts, and car troubles, and still embrace others with a pure heart of love and understanding.
I was graciously invited to join these friends of mine to feed and connect with the homeless of Dallas today. We loaded up into a van filled with donated pastries, water, ice cream sandwiches, socks, underwear, and additional clean clothing, and ventured 35 minutes south to Dallas. I didn’t know what was acceptable to say or ask these people in line for all these goods, and I was truly terrified I would offend someone, but I learned they are just grateful for the interaction with people who want to help. I met some amazing people down there today. All of them on different walks of life, all of them in their position for different reasons, but all of them willing to help on another, and accept help from people they don’t know.It struck me as a beautiful thing to let go of pride to allow others to come into your life to help you, and change you.
I think in the end we, the ones giving, will be changed just as much, if not more, as the ones accepting the gifts. What a beautiful gift exchange in such a sad and broken world.
sad and broken world indeed

that sounds amazing. And I love it so far. 🙂 It’s a bit too warm, but it’ll cool down soon, right? And even if it doesn’t… I wouldn’t trade it for anything else.
