High Hopes Continue
Well, today wasn’t quite what I had planned, but I suppose that was to be expected.
I woke up with a huge migraine—the first in many months. I started taking Topamax a while back for my migraines, and it’s worked really well. I’ve only had 2 in 3-4 months. I used to have them once or twice a week. In any case, I ended up taking a small swig of Nyquil and a dose of Excedrin, and with a three hour nap, poof—no more migraine. I’m exceedingly lucky in that regard… if I get to a dark and quiet enough room, I can generally sleep off a migraine.
Anyway… afterward, Grant and I didn’t do much. We went to Kroger for some groceries and to GNC to compare my current extremely expensive vitamins with some not-so-expensive vitamins. Looks like I’ll be switching next month. Should about $75/month… I know… that’s an insane amount to be spending, much less SAVING in vitamins.
Still, I think it was a good day. We’re still planning to go to Virginia Beach tomorrow—get up early and spend the day on the beach before going to his friend’s for dinner. I think it’ll be great fun. I’m a little bummed that I only have two days left until I have to get back to the SSDD of my job and normal life… but a part me… the upbeat part that has had a relatively good two days (despite the migraine and sore calves from yesterday’s hike)… is looking forward to going back to work and trying to “wow” the them again.
I’ve taken a lot of crap in the last month or so for not being “as good as I once was”… but perhaps coming back from the New Year, I’ll be able to be better than I ever was. And if I’m not, perhaps I’ll have the courage to tell “them” to go straight to hell if ‘they’ have the audacity to complain when I work my butt off, doing things like coming in during the freaking holidays and answering stupid questions for the millionth time. Whoever came up with the phrase “there’s no such thing as a stupid question” has seriously never met my boss. Anyway… if I can’t wow ‘them’ (them being my Boss and his ‘partner’ in dealings), then screw ‘them.’ Right? Right. 🙂
Yeah… two days in, but 2009 is looking better so far… please, for the love of Pete, let’s keep this trend.
right!
