The Devil’s Soul

There’s so much we take for granted, little things, oddities that are casual, like rain falling from the sky, no one thinks anything of it. There is enough here, in this world, this life, to be absorbed by until we pass on, each moment is extraordinarily complicated, from chances in numbers we simply can’t quantify as being meaningful, vast numbers that amount to a sense of a cosmic force, guiding and handed, to simpler things, manageable ideas, things like melody, or light, as it’s mostly understood, this tiny part of a spectrum we happen to be able to perceive, blind to the rest, back again to complicated things that pass even basic recognition, time as a dimension, consciousness, every single thing we interact with, try to understand, can only be understood if you also get the billions of years that came before it, there’s just, so much to understand, inspiring or intimidating, a bit of both I guess, just how little we really know, we’re enormously successful at it though, tiny organic blobs on a planet central to very little in the vastness of things, just look how much we’ve grasped, it’d be a waste somehow if we didn’t though, to think of this incredible, genuine, magnum opus, just passing by unnoticed, this great creation, the eternal condition, with only light and energy to show for it, with no one to know it, so even if all we can do is write about our admiration for it, it’s worth it somehow, beautiful things ought to be seen, a very human thought I suppose, but that’s kind of wonderful anyway isn’t it?
