Picturing Words

A photograph entry because words are difficult and this is easier, except for the formatting. Actually this is much more difficult but it’s a change of pace so why not.

I’ll start with my park, Centennial Park. I didn’t actually know this until much older but it was the first outing my parents took me on after being born, so, hospital, home, park, that was the order of my experiences. There might be something in that I don’t know. The park feels like home to me, which is a concept and phrase bandied about without much sincerity, but I mean it as much as I can mean anything.

I’ve given James clear instructions that if I should die unexpectedly he is to take one of those stones and it is to be used on my grave

They won’t let you be buried in the park, sadly, otherwise that’s what I’d do.

Those stones have been lying around there for about 10 years now and James and I have been going there together since we were 12.

This is from country NSW whilst on the way up to QLD with Brent and Natalie. I pulled into a dirt track road leading onto a property to admire the scene, you can’t really see it in the pictures but those clouds were the sizes of suburbs. Everything was distant, we were watching two different rain storms on opposite sides of the horizon, also the rainbow was on one side and there sun was setting on the other. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Did you know that people used to consider smoking to be elegant?

Further Down The Track

Hmm what else, here are a couple of action shots of Terence, my father, 77 years old. I don’t know if it explains much but he is Irish.

That’s actually just how he walks.

Dignity is a State of Mind

Finally this is the view from the balcony. I am often told by people that they just don’t know how anyone can live in Sydney, that it’s a horrible place, and they’re perfectly right, how could anyone disagree with that assessment?

Midsummer

A beautiful cumulonimbus, the quintessential Summer cloud. When you see that there’s a good chance you’ll get a thunderstorm later in the day. So if you’re like me, when you see that you just become boundlessly happy. Being outside when the rain starts to fall, that scent of the earth and the rain mixing together is my favourite fragrance, and the sound of rain is my favourite sound. So, yeah, happiness.

The Start of Autumn

That tower you see on the left, that’s an elevator testing shaft. People always find that fascinating.

Shame about the pillar in the way but look at the way the shadows lie against the grass.

Alright that is all I could be bothered uploading so I’ll end here.

That bit about the elevator testing shaft IS rather fascinating. That really is a beautiful park. Maybe I’ll swing by sometime. You know, just swim across the ocean and stroll across the continent. I’ll be back in the U.S. before dinner. Ahem. Really beautiful. 🙂

Haha the elevator testing shaft is quite amusing! “I don’t know if it explains much but he is Irish” – you have no idea how much I can relate to that sentence lol.. so many times I gave that excuse when my Pop and my Mum were being silly.. “Nevermind them, they’re just Irish..” Great photos. Centennial Park, ah how many times I have been lost there. Great photo of the QLD shot. How about a pictureof you huh!

RYN: No, I’m not embarrassed about what I write at all 🙂 It’s part of who I am, not something to be embarrassed about. Though it’s not something that usually comes up in normal day to day conversation. At least online I can be open and honest, and if someone doesn’t want to hear about such things, they can just click the random button and move on to the next anonymous diary. hehe 🙂

I have really bad days and good days. The day I wrote my last entry was a bad one. I feel more stable now, and I really don’t want psychiatric help. P.S: The smell right when it starts raining is called petrichor 🙂

I love these photos. They’re pictures of the sort of everyday loveliness that’s too often taken for granted. Cloud shadows!

RYN: That’s cool that you play the piano/guitar. As for getting sick of the songs I play, I would say I used to, but not so much anymore. I suppose it’s because songs sound a lot different to me when they’re played in just one instrument, so I still get pleasure out of listening to the original song? I’m not sure.

being a girl gamer who plays WoW is not a confession..lol its awesome 😉 ty for ur comment, it was interesting and ur welcome to use *gormless wanker* anytime!

i love this! “people always find that fascinating” you. are hilarious. Your father is adorable. Your appreciation for all things GREEN and alive is a stark contrast to my desert, but I can appreciate both. SO much energy coming out of those pictures, particularly the pine forrest ones. And your park is beautiful by the way. xoxox
