Visit to the Doc
K, I’m back from my doctors appointment. Fun times. I think the funniest part was telling the nurse I have tinnitus and having her say “What’s that?” Of course, she remembered when I started explaining it. 🙂
The nurse took my blood pressure and for once they didn’t comment on it being high, instead she said that my pulse was a little quick but then smiled and stated that I’d probably already noticed that. I certainly had thanks to the ole heartbeat in the ear thing.
The nurse asked a lot of questions about my dizzy spells but the doctor didn’t seem to be all that interested in that part. I have a feeling it’s probably related to the screwed up fluid in my ear and once that’s fixed the dizziness will be fixed.
My diagnosis is Eustacian Tube Dysfunction due to Allergic Rhinitis. So in short, I hear my damn heartbeat in my ear cuz my nose is stuffy all the damn time. He gave me four different allergy medicine’s to try. Clarinex, Allegra, Flonase, and Nasacort. 2 different pills and 2 different sprays. I’m supposed to try the pills and sprays together for a couple weeks and figure out which combination of pill and spray seem to work the best together. Then I’ll call him back and get a prescription if it seems to help.
My allergies suck so I wouldn’t be too surprised if my Tinnitus was related to the allergies. My allergies are a lot worse here than they ever were in Oklahoma. My nose is constantly stuffed and most of the time I don’t even notice it, after living with it for four years you just kind of get used to it. I sneeze a lot, which I do notice because I fucking hate sneezing. And I’m pretty much screwed year round because I have indoor and outdoor allergies. You name it, I’m probably allergic to it. 🙂
Anyway, that’s it, we’ll see if this fixes it or not.
My allergies suck, too, but I can’t take anything for them. Flonase gave me migraines. I just suffer. Maybe that new drug coming out (or maybe it’s already out) will help. I forgot the name of it already, but it’s not an antihistamine, so there’s a slight chance I could tolerate it. I hope your meds work for you and that the tinnitus goes away. Tinnitus is SOOOOOOO annoying!!!!!!!!!
