Vacation Day 7

Well, today was our last day in Tulsa. We had a pretty fun day, went to the Waffle House for breakfast again, we can’t get Waffle House in CT so we go as often as we can when we’re in Oklahoma. We spent the day with my mom and step-dad again. We stopped at Petsmart on our way over there and got Sara two new toys and bought a toy for Tisha, Sara has a little soccer ball that squeaks and Tisha just loved it so we bought her one. 🙂 We went out to Claremore to a gun museum. I didn’t really think it was all that exciting, I get pretty bored looking at guns but hubby really enjoyed it. I enjoyed looking at all the World War I posters, our country is an um, amusing place. heh. Anyway, we bought a ping pong ball gun, our cats LOVE ping pong balls so we figured that’d be fun, we can load it up and shoot ping pong balls for them to chase.

After that we went to the Will Rogers Memorial Museum, that was interesting as well, I’d never been there before. We didn’t get to go to his birthplace but we did go out to Oolagah lake for a few minutes.

My mom certainly kept us fed, jeez, we went all kind of places. We went to a really nice Mexican place tonight. It wasn’t as good as I had expected but the atmosphere was unique. When we got back to their house we watched the video’s they took in Las Vegas, now there’s one place I’d never go in a million years. Too noisy and too busy!! I’m not much for gambling really either. We went out to the casino in CT on my birthday when I turned 21 and it was alright. We didn’t have a lot to spend so we both took a 20 and played quarter slots, we left with 20 bucks less than we came in with. Seemed like a waste of time to me since you know, you go home with less money than you came in with yet have nothing to show for it. *shrugs* Maybe if I had a bunch of money to blow and was able to play some of the table games it might be fun.

We had all kinds of crap to bring home from my moms house. I think it’s all going to fit in the car with our luggage, heh, it better. I told my step-dad if we showed up in the morning it was because we didn’t have enough room in our car for all our stuff. He said they’d ship stuff to us if it wouldn’t all fit.

When we got to our hotel this evening a truck pulled up behind us as we were unloading the car and it turned out to be my step-dad, lol, we left Sara’s bowl at their house. We hadn’t noticed, of course, luckily they did! Not having that would have made feeding Sara interesting in the morning. She’d have been eating off of the floor, lol.

We’re all done with our visiting, my dad just left the hotel. He brought hubby a bunch of cable, now we can wire up our entire house and have a computer in every room, lol.

We leave Tulsa tomorrow morning and are stopping Nashville, TN, we won’t get to do anything there really but we’ll get to see it from the highway. We’re hoping we like this route, it gets kind of boring going back the way you came and seeing all the same things again. We’ll just kind of make a loop through the states, and if we like this route we’ll probably do the same thing next time. Stopping to meet Cyndi (FallingDog) was great, gave us a nice break from the drive and everything. She said she was boring us, but we really had a lot of fun, we might have to make a habit of stopping to see her on our way to Oklahoma. 😉

My step-dad kept talking about coming to see us some summer. I think he misses New England, especially Rhode Island. He was in the Navy and was stationed in Rhode Island, he loved it there. There’s some neat stuff in Groton, CT we’d like to take him to see, submarine’s and stuff. I hope they come up, I’d love to share our house and stuff with them. Both my mom and dad have seen our house but my step-dad hasn’t, hubbys mom was living there when my dad saw it but now it’s ours and we’ve changed a lot. It’d be nice to share a little of our world with them.

*sigh* I’m sad it’s almost over. I mean, all that’s left is the drive back, but in a way I feel refreshed. I’ve re-realized how much I really like CT. I also realize how good we have it compared to a lot of people. I want to work on myself. I’ve kind of been stuck in a rut for awhile and it’s just silly. I keep thinking if I’m going to get anywhere in this world I should have done it by now but jeez, I’m only 22, by a lot of people’s standards I’m still a kid. I’m hoping joining that band will kind of break up my routine too, I get into this routine and I get to where I have to be in bed by a certain time, have to do this and that and I’d like to be more carefree. *shrugs* I have a lot of things about myself I have to work on.

Anyway, I’m rambling on more than I need to.

G’Night

Sounds as if you’ve opened your eyes to a lot of good things about yourself this trip, Brandi. More power to you! I know that whatever you choose to do, you will be good at it and you will go far. Well, you may think I’m not boring, but I know better! 😉
