*sigh*

Yeah, I’m in pain. I’ve got one hell of a bruise where Sophie bit me, I think she must have knicked the vain, it’s right by one so I wouldn’t be surprised. This cat is making me crazy!!

We can’t go near her kittens anymore either. She protests any time we go in the closet now. I check on the kittens once in awhile, every few hours with a flashlight. I used to be able to lay down and pet them and stuff but now it’s just a quick in and out. She would watch and purr even, but now she meows in protest.

*sigh*

I see promise in her, we’re doing what you do with puppies now. When Sophie is doing her sweet loving on you, rubbing on you and purring thing we let her but if she gets at all mouthy we walk off and ignore her. She has to learn that biting is not affection. Cats do bite gently sometimes to ‘give kisses’ but Sophie gets out of hand. Sally was somewhat aggressive when we got her. If you tried to punish her she’d take a swipe at your face with her claws or bite. We managed to break her of that. This gives me hope for Sophie, but we’ll see.

I was thinking about our cats though and some old stories, and funny things they do, I thought I’d share a couple.

We once caught Casper trying to pick Kenny up in his mouth as if he were a kitten. Kenny happened to be laying on top of the warm laptop computer and Casper wanted to lay there too so he was trying to pick Kenny up and move him. Needless to say he failed, Kenny was close to full grown at the time.

Casper always comes when he’s called, it’s so cute.

When we lived in Stafford we lived in a second floor apartment. You come in the door and go straight up the stairs to our apartment, there was no door seperating the front store downstairs or anything. The cats weren’t allowed down there BUT Kenny learned that if he knocked a ball down there we’d let him run downstairs to fetch it. He’d pick it up in his mouth and run back upstairs with it. Well, after awhile, believe it or not he started intentionally knocking his toys down stairs and then he’d run downstairs chirping and meowing all the way down.

Casper chatters his teeth and chirps and whines when he knows he’s doing something he isn’t supposed to. It’s so funny, it’s like he’s saying I know I’m not supposed to but I realllly want to!!

That’s it for now, I need to go downstairs and finish up my part of making dinner. 🙂
