Mailbox Damage

Remember earlier I mentioned our mailbox got bashed?

Well, what I didn’t mention is that our mailbox is a “Virtually Indestructible” mailbox made out of 18-gauge steel. Yepp, whoever hit that with a baseball bat didn’t feel so good after I’m sure. I’ve included a picture of the tiny bit of damage the bat did to our mailbox. Most of the mailboxes on our street have huge dents in the side. Yepp, every mailbox on our side of the street got bashed we noticed. The annoying part is that even though our mailbox didn’t take a lot of damage it was still enough damage the damn thing wouldn’t open so we didn’t get our mail today.

Hubby banged the dent back out of the mailbox after work today. At least we didn’t have to buy a new mailbox and I hope the little brats that did this think twice about taking bats to mailboxes again. You never know when you might run across one made out of 18-gauge steel. 😉 One of the main reasons we bought this one is that we knew if anyone ever came mailbox bashing they’d regret it.

my aunt lives out in the country, kids LOVED to do that. They planted their mailbox in a pail of concrete..when they came by, they bashed it. They knew the kid who did it…he broke his arms. Hah. Then once they jumped outta the ditch and shot a paintball gun at them..different kids. These kids had blue paintdots on their car hehehe

Gee, what a strange coincidence that all the mailboxes on your side of the road were bashed. I hope all of you called the police. That might give them a clue that they have a problem on their hands with bratty teenage boy vandals. Anyway, someone must have been determined to do damage if they continued to hammer away at your mailbox–serves ’em right if it hurt ’em to wail on it!
