Loud Lunch

Okay, let me just start by saying lunch SUCKED. It SUCKED hardcore. We went to one of our favorite Mexican places, Puerto Vallarta, for lunch today. When we pulled into the lot we saw two school busses. Hmm, two school busses. We went inside anyway. The place was full of children. Now, it’s one thing to take your class out to lunch at an Authentic Mexican restaurant. I can respect a teacher wanting their class to experience Authentic Mexican food, I can. It’s another thing to play loud ass music the kids have to yell over and allow them to literally run around screaming through the entire restaurant. Yes, our lunch was highly unpleasant. Have I mentioned I have sensitive hearing? The voice of a child, especially a screaming child is EXTREMELY painful. I almost pulled out my ear plugs I keep in my bag, but didn’t because I wouldn’t have been able to talk to hubby at all if I had. We could barely hear one another as it was.

Not only that but the service was absolutely horrid. They put onions on hubby’s vegetarian burrito even though he asked them not to, a sin punishable by death, he HATES onions. I don’t mind them so it didn’t bother me. We never got refills, it took an eternity for the waitress to pick up our check and it took another eternity for her to make change. The absolute worst service we’ve ever gotten there. Nothing like adding a few extra people to the team on the day a school is bringing it two busses full of kids! What an effing concept!

Next time we see a school bus parked there we won’t assume it’s just the buss drivers stopping for lunch, instead we’ll just turn back and go somewhere else. 🙂

So, that’s my painful story of the day, hopefully this will also be my last entry of the day. 🙂

I can’t think of a sound I abhor more than that of a screaming kid. It must have been HELL for you. And putting onions in hubby’s burrito! How DARE they!
