Hiking
Oh agony, agony and pain.
Yeah, so it’s not THAT bad, but my feet hurt. We went on a nice 2 hour hike today. Only problem is, hubby forgot the trail was quite steep and rocky. Hubby has a bad memory. Bad…bad hubby’s memory. But anyway, despite having to climb a few hundred feet then turn around and go back down it because the way back would be too long otherwise. It was a fun day. Sara had a blast although she was worn out by the end of it too. She’s a little lazy for a field dog, but I guess it’s probably because we’re lazy too.
Anyway, here’s hiking pics.
Sara. That weird looking black thing hanging over is part of her harness, it doubles as a doggy seatbelt:

Sara taking a break mid-climb, alright so I admit, I’m the one that actually wanted the break, Sara just laid down:
Sara enjoying the break at the second view/water pit stop:
This is the second view on the trail we took. Not only is it a great view but there’s a nice big rock to sit on and enjoy a water break:
This is a little grass snake we saw. Perfectly harmless little fella so I took his picture. You can’t see his head but he had a close eye on me. 🙂 We have a lot of these in our yard at home too. Gotta watch out for them when you mow. I love snakes so I always move them if I see them in time:
After taking a couple steps after photographing the snake we hear what sounds like something running through the brush. And that’s just what it was. Two young deer, hubby got a quick pic just before they got away:
And that’s that. I should probably get to work. I’ve got some stuff to do around the house this evening. Hubby has to mow so I’m going to tidy up the rest of the downstairs, do some laundry and cook dinner. Hubby is going to mow and then we’re going to watch a movie. We’ve been wanting to see “The Two Towers” again but the video store was out of it last night.
Tomorrow evening I’m going to FINALLY go see that band I tried to join at the beginning of the summer. They’re playing at the manchester band shell at the school hubby goes to. Actually, they’re probably going to get rained out of there and have to play at the rain location which is even better, it’s an air-conditioned school auditorium! 🙂 I’ll have to report back as to whether or not my first impression of them was wrong. If they suck I’ll be glad I was right. If they blow me away though I’m not going to join next year anyway. I decided screw it, too much work. 🙂
Sara is beautiful! :)And great pic of the snake and dear!
