Flute stuff

Had to drop my flute back off at the shop this morning. You may remember that I recently had it in the shop for repairs. The repairs didn’t stick, it’s back to not playing in the low octave again. This is no fault of the shop, just a sign of a flute long overdue for an overhaul. I’ve had this particular flute for about 11 years and it’s never had anything more than minor adjustments.

Dropping it off was somewhat amusing. The guy was really nice, as they always are where I go. He pulled it out of its case to look it over and said he wanted it. 🙂 While he looked it over I told him about my recent visit to the shop there and how it hadn’t held its adjustment. Then I told him it was about 11 years old and had never had any major work done on it. He nodded and agreed that it definitely looked like it was in need of an overhaul. So I got an estimate and decided to leave it. I forgot to ask how long he thought it’d take but then again, I don’t really care too much, I just want it done. I have my old student flute I can use for the time being. I think they try to turn all jobs around within a week anyway.

Anywho, after going to the shop I went to KMart. I needed a padlock. I wandered around the store a bit and left with exactly what I went in there for plus a bottle of water. Now here I sit trying to decide what to do with the rest of my day. I need to clean the kitchen but don’t really want to. What I want to do is goof off and do absolutely nothing. Maybe I’ll do that for awhile then clean the kitchen.

Later. 🙂

*gasp* There’s still a KMart open somewhere in Connecticut?! The one near my family in Windsor closed! 🙂
