Excited!!

So, my day ended much better than I ever expected today! I didn’t end up getting to meet up with the bagpiper tonight, so I ended up hanging around at the pub longer than I had planned to. People started discussing the plans for the rest of the week. This is a hugely busy week at the pub starting Thursday. This Thursday is Whisky night, but it coincides with St. Andrews Day, which is a big deal in Scotland since St. Andrew is the Patron Saint of Scotland. So, Dave, being from Scotland, has decided to make this Whisky night a big St. Andrews celebration. This is probably going to be the biggest Whisky night ever! Then, on Friday there is a band coming in and we’re doing a toy drive to collect toys and donations for the children of the town who are less fortunate. They’re having the most popular band that plays at the pub come in that night to play, and um, I GET TO OPEN FOR THEM!! When I got asked if I was interested in doing that I almost hit the floor! So, Friday night I’m opening for Cousin Earth, which is this really cool Ukulele Fusion band out of Brooklyn, NY. They’re fantastic and really unique, I may have mentioned them in here once before. Anyway, I get to play for an hour starting at 7pm! I am so freaking excited it’s ridiculous! They always pack the house, so this will likely be the biggest crowd I’ve ever played for!

I think this means I’m giving up my usual slot on Saturday, but that’s okay. I’m not 100% sure what’s going on Saturday, but Dave mentioned that it was going to be crazy too. I’m not sure how crazy because I heard the band for Saturday canceled. So, who knows.

Then Sunday is a huge townwide Christmas kick-off party that goes on all day and ends with everyone going to the pub, so we’ll be there for that too.

Anyway, that’s me off to bed now, tomorrow I have to start rehearsing and putting together my set-list for Friday!
