Emergency Room
Well, I just got back from the emergency room. I realized the bite Sophie gave me was infected, looked some stuff up on the internet and all the things I read pretty much said to get your ass to the hospital. So I did.
The doctor numbed me up and cleaned it out. Then they gave me a dose of antibiotic through an IV drip. Now I have a prescription for antibiotics that I have to take for 10 days and I also get to soak the bite in warm water 3 times a day as well.
That wasn’t much fun but it was worth it since now I know the infection shouldn’t get any worse.
I’m tired and a little dissapointed that the medicine they numbed it with has worn off already, I was enjoying a break from the constant aching. I’m trying to figure out how long I need to leave the peice of tape and stuff over the IV spot because I have a wicked tape allergy, I might try taking it off after I finish my lunch, if I leave it on for too long it’ll be bright red for a few days.
EDIT: Too late, it already is bright red. 🙂 Oh yeah, and you know what hurts worse than getting an IV in? Pulling tape off of arm hair. YEOWCH!!
I’m still glad this happened to me and not Sara though. Better me than her, at least I understand what happened.
And the moral of this story:
Don’t ever touch a pissed off cat!
good god how many of us have learned that the hard way? it succks that it had to come to this though. i hope it feels better Ali

You’re a brave woman, Brandi. I don’t know as I’d have wanted to be around that cat for a long time after she’d bitten me that way. Is there ANYTHING you can do to calm her down? I know you said you could do it; my thoughts go with you! 😉
