Drunk Driving

Could someone come to CT and kick my hubby’s ass for me? He rescheduled the kittys appointment for 4:30 today because I needed him to help me get her crated. He’s too wimpy to leave at one! Nah, actually he’s got some project due and blah blah, but the point is that I don’t get to leave early!! *pout*

I forgot to mention I saw something last night on the way to get the kitty that REALLY made wish I owned a cell phone. We ended up behind a guy on the highway that was obviously really drunk. Our first run in with him was on the highway when he swerved into our lane and made hubby slam on the brakes. The next run in was when we went to get off the highway, we were grateful he wasn’t getting off at our exit until all of a sudden after almost passing the exit entirely he swung back in front of us and got off. GRRR! Then he went left just like we were doing. Now we’re on a two lane road and he’s going slow in front of us and steering towards whatever he happens so be looking at, usually cars coming at him head on. EVERY TIME a car passed him he swerved towards it and ended up swerving back into his lane and hitting the brakes. Needless to say we hung WAYYYYYYY back. He was also being extremely cautious of cars braking ahead of him and taking forever to start driving again. I was soooooo pissed and had there been a phone around we would have stopped to call the police but we were out in the sticks and there were no phone’s in sight. I’ve never actually seen a drunk behind the wheel. At first I thought he was just an old guy that needed to stop driving but at one point when he swung his head around to look at some people blaring music. I saw that he was probably in his late forties/early fifties and he looked really drunk. I sincerely hope everyone in his path got home safely and I also hope someone on the road DID have a cell phone and DID call the cops. I can’t stand people that endanger the lives of others, it’s ignorant and uncalled for. You can endanger your own life all you want, I could give two shits, let natural selection weed out the morons but you DO NOT EVER endanger the lives of innocent bystanders.

So, that’s my rant for the day.

Well, I’m kind of going to lecture you here. GET A CELL PHONE!!! Not only do you need one for incidents like this, but you are female, and sad to say, it’s true that women have to take extra precautions to take care of ourselves. What if your car broke down when you were by yourself? Okay, I’m done lecturing, but PLEASE get a cell phone.
