Busy, busy, busy

Busy day today. Hubby and I both had to get new contacts. I hate going to the eye doctor. I always get nervous. I have an eye problem due to over-wearing my contacts as a teenager and sometimes it makes going stressful. Anyway, going today was cool. I got a new type of lenses, Acuvue Oasys. They allow 100% airflow and you can even nap or sleep in them. How cool is that? Apparently they’re silicone and not everyone can wear them so I only have a trial pair right now. I go back in a week to get more if they’re working out. So far they feel great, I can’t even tell I have them in.

Hubby has some kind of allergy problem with his eyes. He got a new brand of contacts too and a prescription for special eye drops (which cost us a ton because our prescription plan SUCKS) but anyway.

We also took Casper back to the vet. The vet was very pleased with what she saw. He gained a half a pound!!! So the medicine is working. Her assistant today (a new vet starting at that clinic) loved Casper and didn’t want to put him down after taking him back to draw blood. He’s a sweety, he wasn’t happy to be there but he wasn’t fighting them either, he’s the only one of our cats that doesn’t fight the vet. Well, I guess Sally is okay, but not as good as Casper. I think we’ve found our new vet. We’ve been shopping a bit, these people are really nice and today they only charged us for the blood test and not for the office visit. A big plus in our world! With 8 cats and a dog we like those kinds of benefits. 🙂

We also took the aspire into the shop for a new timing belt. We picked that up a few minutes ago and hubby said it’s running much better. It still needs some other stuff possibly but that made a big difference. It’s nice to have that extra car but it’s costing us a lot to get it straightened out. Hubbys brother didn’t take very good care of it.

Friday we have to take Sara down to Southern CT to meet the people she’ll be staying with when we’re in Maine. It’s hubbys Aunt and Uncle. They’re golden retriever lovers and told us in no uncertain terms that if we ever needed anyone to watch her it had better be them. LOL, that’s great because we couldn’t find anyone else. The only downside is that they live about an hour away.

This Saturday we have a wedding to go to up in Mass. This weekend is also the Armed Forces Day concert for the band I’m in. I don’t know if that’s going to be Saturday or Sunday or at all. Depends on the weather. If it’s Saturday I can’t participate because of the wedding, Sunday is the rain date and if it happens then I can participate. So I hope it happens Sunday. I’ve been watching the weather to see if I need to go to the dress rehearsal this Thursday. Right now who knows, it’s been raining for days and days and there is no end in sight.

Anyway, I should probably go see what hubby wants to do for dinner.

Ooh, I should ask about trying those Acuvue Oasys. The ones I am using are supposed to allow more airflow but they don’t seem to be helping very much – I don’t sleep with them in, even though it’s supposed to be okay for me to, but I still have had troubles.
