ARGH!

I heard a noise last night while I was trying to go to sleep. Noises in our house aren’t uncommon since we have 8 cats. We hear noises far too often to go investigate all of them so unless we hear something actually break we usually just ignore it. Well, last nights noise turned out to be someone playing in my aquarium!! I went into the living room this morning to find half the plants and the Roman Column decoration leaning over. I sighed and sat down to eat my breakfast. When I got up to take my plate into the kitchen I noticed parts of a couple plants on the floor. They actually got the fake plants out of the aquarium!! I am many things right now, pissed off, annoyed, baffled and even somewhat amused. I’m also really glad I don’t have fish in there yet!! I have no intention of fixing the plants at the moment, I’m just going to leave them knocked over until hubby can come up with a way to cat-proof the hood. The problem is the opening for the power filter. It’s big enough for cats to get their paw in. If we can’t come up with a solution I guess I’ll just have to scratch the fish tank idea cuz no way am I endangering helpless fishies. I’ve had smaller aquariums for years, little 2 gallons with bettas and the cats don’t bother those so I’m shocked that they’re bothering the bigger tank. Anyway, we’ll see what happens I guess.

In other news the concert went well last night. We screwed up one song. It wasn’t horrible but the saxophones decided to rush it, they weren’t watching the conductor. Eventually it all came back together. The kids joined us after intermission, they seemed to have fun, a lot of them looked nervous but they did fine. I wish I was better with kids, we each had a kid to mentor and the little girl I had was really shy. She actually reminded me a lot of myself at that age. She didn’t talk to any of the other kids much, or to me, and since I’m still really shy myself I didn’t know how to get her talking. Then again maybe it was better that I’m not super talkative. When I was little I would have been overwhelmed by being paired up with an adult that tried to get me to talk too much, so who knows. I just hope she had fun. 🙂

I will try to post pictures in the near future. For now I should go, I’m supposed to be cleaning the house. 🙂
