Another Car Accident

Another car went off the road last night. This time it wasn’t too close to our house but was relatively close to our barn. Wasn’t on our property this time, but close. I wonder if the people building their dream house next door will like knowing cars go off the road more often into their yard than into ours?

Hubby had just gotten home from class a couple minutes before the accident. We went upstairs and saw flashing lights outside, we hadn’t heard anything but saw rescuers with flashlight just on the other side of the barn. The barn has been hit before so we were a bit worried at first.

We didn’t find out much last night but hubby took this picture of the car:

We walked up to where the person went off the road this morning to take a look around. We saw tire tracks that didn’t make any sence at all. The only way you could go off the road like she did was if you were drunk, had a serious issue like a heart attack or were swerving to miss something, like the stray cat that hangs around that part of the yard or a deer. We can only speculate.

There were some interesting things at the scene this morning. A womans shirt and gloves, a list of what to get at McDonalds, an ice-scraper and flashlight. A card for a free card at Carlton cards, a cigarrette lighter and some pads. Oh yeah, and a crossword puzzle book. From that we figure it was more than likely a woman.

Judging from the looks of the car I’d say she probably came out of it banged up but okay. The only thing that worried us though last night was that the ambulance was in no hurry to get going. So either she was really okay or she really wasn’t okay at all. We’ll see if flowers go up I guess.

Let me close by saying, don’t drink and drive, wear your seatbelts and drive safely!!! This kind of thing happens far too often.

you could try putting up some boulder like rocks.. that seemed to work in our driveway. Nothing like admitting you hit a parked car… in someone’s driveway at that. LOL. but we’ve got something like 2k bucks everytime someone hits a car.. but, of course we use that money to actually FIX the cars lol

Is your county/state not able to make a change in the road there? That seems to be the real problem–the way the road is built. They need to staighten the curve or take out the blind spot or SOMETHING. I feel so bad for you guys because this is, what, the 5th or 6th accident in only a few months? Good grief!!!

They sure didn’t do a good job of fixing it, did they! How about a speed bump? Or maybe the signs need to be scarier: WARNING! DANGEROUS CURVE! Or something like that.
