Annoyed

Yes, this is my third entry today.

I’m up to letter J in the Glossary project.

*sigh*

A few minutes ago the guy across from me started up a conference call in his pink box (cubicle).

I don’t think half the people that work here realize how rude it is to have a 15 person conference call in a cubicle. Does anyone realize how fucking obnoxious this behavior is???? Does anyone realize there are rooms with special conference phones and internet hookups just for this purpose????? They’re called conference rooms. WHOA!!

*repeats to self* an hour an 45 minutes left, an hour and 45 minutes left.

I think I’m calling it quits with CMS today. It’s driving me insane. I can point out precisely ZERO things I like about it. Give me notepad for my html coding any day. I’d like to beat the person who bought this system over the head with a Cluebat.

OOOOOHHH, this reminds me. I got my new flute book. Music is graded (1-6) 1 being the easiest, 6 being the most difficult. These Bach solo’s I got are grade 5. It came with a CD so you can hear a “professional” interpretation of the music. The flutist on the CD is supposed to be AWESOME, he’s won a ton of awards, played with tons of bands, but this cd makes him sound like shit. WHY? The people who made the CD put the microphone too close to his mouth. Throughout the CD you hear the most disgusting mouth noises when he goes to play. It was so awful I couldn’t finish listening to the CD. You don’t put the microphone in front of the flute players mouth, you just don’t. God forbid there are smacky mouth noises on the cd, yuck. The people that made the CD also need to be beat over the head with a cluebat.

Actually, I can think of a lot of people that need to be beat over the head with a cluebat, or anything for that matter. If it can be swung or thrown it can be used to beat some idiot over the head.

An hour and half left until I’m free.

I really need to be alone this weekend. The idea of going camping sounds appealing but the weather is shitty. Not to mention going camping doesn’t guarantee peace, quiet, and privacy. No, last time we went camping the idiots next to us kept borrowing our lighter to light the lumber they had purchased for a campfire. Yes, you heard that right, they went to like Home Depot and bought 2×4’s to use for building campfire’s. Nothing like stopping at one of the many places that sell campfire wood near the park!!!

Anyway, I’ve been unbelievably negative lately. It’s easy to sit around and complain though. Especially when you do what I do for a living. 😉 Technical writing and Technical support are high-stress jobs afterall. *yawn* One more hour and I’m going home to my cave.

Despite all my recent negativity I’d like to wish everyone a happy weekend. 🙂

Ick! Sorry the CMS is so crappy. If nothing else, make sure you understand what CMS is good for, if it were actually good, etc… I find that people who have experience working with ANY kind of CMS are few and far between right now, at least in our area. The mindset surrounding how it changes the web development process is important but I don’t want to teach it, I want the benefits when I hire.

I can think of a lot of people who need to be beaten over the head with a cluebat, too. Like, almost everyone I know.
