I’m at home today. We had some problems with Sophie last night that ended up keeping us up until 2am. I had started cleaning out the new kitten room and got quite a ways on it before I decided I was too tired and needed to go to bed. Sleep was not something that would come soon. No matter what we did we couldn’t get Sophie to leave her kittens in their place in our closet. She wanted to move them to the new, unfinished room. We closed the door on the room and even that didn’t help. She was doing things like carrying them into the hall and leaving them at the top of the stairs!!! Not a safe place for kittens!! Around midnight we decided to give up and complete the new room. At 1:30 we moved the kittens in, showed Sophie where they were and went to sleep. A few minutes later we woke up to the sound of a cat fight downstairs. They worked it out, this always happens when you do too much rearranging of their territory. Around 2am we were finally able to fall asleep. Hubby had to get up at 5am to take Sara out to do her business and feed her. We both e-mailed our bosses and went back to sleep. Hubby is going in to work around lunchtime, I’m not going to bother. I don’t have anything to do and told my boss to tell me if she wanted me to come in instead of working from home.
The Kittens seem to be enjoying their new room. We were going to move them in tonight but since Sophie had to go and get impatient that project is done and I’ll move on to other things tonight. We’re having our neighbors over tomorrow afternoon to meet the kittens. Then Sunday at noon one of the adoptee’s is coming to pick out a kitten. We’ll probably give the other people a couple houses down a call as well to see if they want one of the manx kittens. They showed an interest last time we were over but didn’t actually ask, they just said maybe, they love manx cats.
The kittens are in a room that’s a little more open to the house now. They can see all the other cats going back and forth and stuff. They can see everyone but Sara right now, Sara doesn’t come upstairs though. Our upstairs rooms are really small and cramped plus the cats need a part of the house they can come to get away from Sara. So we decided we wouldn’t let Sara upstairs. The only time she comes up here is for her baths. Luckily she likes her baths, can you imagine trying to get a golden retreiver that doesn’t want a bath up a flight of stairs? lol
Not much else going on. I think I’ll run grab the camera and see about taking pictures of the kittens in their new room.
