Soooo, this weekend. It was pretty uneventful. Saturday morning we had some errands to run. I needed some new hair gel for one. I haven’t decided on the hair or not, whether or not I like it. I honestly thought it’d be more wash and go than it is. If I don’t gel it though it sticks up all over and I look like I’ve been electrocuted or something. I’ve never been to big on hair gel. I like my hair to feel soft and natural. Not goopy. The gel I had been using left my hair sticky all day. I bought some new stuff, Aussie brand, their light hold formula. It’s not sticky and it’s still dry and crunchy feeling unless I brush it after the gel dries. It’s tolerable that way and lays down okay, but my hair never feels clean anymore except just after I wash it before bed. I should just buzz my hair off entirely. Problem solved. 🙂

We also bought light bulbs, y’see we had purchased a “value pack” of light bulbs awhile back and they burn out really fast. Some have burnt out literally the day after we replaced it. This started getting old. So, note to anyone who might consider buying a no name brand value pack of light bulbs, don’t do it, it’s not a value! We ended up settling on a package of “Reveal” light bulbs and two of those yellow no bug lightbulbs for the porch. The Reveal lights are just weird. They definitely take out that yellow color, everything looks more purple. I didn’t like them at first, but they’re growing on me. Just, if you buy Reveal lights, they’re brighter than normal lights. So if you don’t want it really bright buy a lower wattage than you normall would with regular light bulbs. 🙂 lol, is it product review day for me or what?

I also had to get a new plastic tub. I needed something to put the pool in. I can’t really put it in the carboard box it came in, the mice and squirrels would chew right through the box and probably the pool as well. Anything we store in our basement has to be in a well sealed waterproof, mouse and spider proof container.

On Saturday we also had to buy pet food, lots of pet food. I needed cans of kitten food, a new 20lb bag of cat food, and chicken feed and cracked corn. Feeding all these animals is getting pricey. It was 50 bucks for all that and we’re lucky Sara didn’t need food as that’s another 30 bucks. lol Dog food is expensive. We discovered it’s just not worthwhile to buy the small bags for her, she eats too much.

Early Saturday morning hubby helped the neighbors move a stone slab from one part of their yard to another. We were surprised Saturday night with a big peice of pineapple upside down cake from our neighbors. mmmmmmm I love pineapple upside down cake and it’s something I’ve missed since leaving Oklahoma. My grandmother used to make it for my dad all the time. Until last night it had been a good 5 years since I’ve had any.

Yesterday we had a few more errands to run. We had to run to Hartford to clean our fish tanks at work. Then we had to go to the grocery store to use the coin machine. We save our coins up and change them in when the jars get full. It’s fun, we’ve had like $130.00 worth of change before. After all that we went out to dinner and then came home to make Pumpkin pie!! It looks good, better than last time but we haven’t gotten to try it yet. We finished off the pineapple upside down cake last night and are going to have pumpkin pie tonight. We’re going to give our neighbors half of it though, on the plate we’re returning from the pineapple upside down cake. It’s fun having stuff to share, and we thought it’d be fun to share some home made pumpkin pie made with a pumpkin from our garden. We have more pumpkins ripe and coming ripe too so there’s more pie’s to be made next weekend! 🙂

Last night hubby decided he needed to replace the light-bulb on the porch. It’s been out for weeks. While he was replacing it I spotted a HUGE spider up on the ceiling of the porch. I decided it was high time I got off the porch when I saw it and especially once hubby decided to go after it with a spade. lol I took off and hid on the other side of the car in the driveway until hubby had killed the spider and cleaned up the web. The only thing left of the spider are some guts on the ceiling. YICK!!

We watched an interesting show on Savants, some were Autistic Savants, last night. I’m absolutely fascinated by Savants. Our brains our endlessly fascinating. I really want to work with Autistics. Mostly adult Autistics, but children too. I’d love to have the opportunity to work with Autistics in general and Autistic Savants. The more I learn about the brain and Autism and stuff the more fascinating it becomes. To me, Autism is a beautiful thing. It seems to me most higher functioning Autistics only suffer because they’re expected to be just like everyone else. When they’re not forced to conform and try to be “normal” they’re extremely happy, lost in their own world. The problem is when normal people can’t deal with the Autism. Being on the spectrum myself I would absolutely love to have a high functioning autistic child. I know a low funtioning child would be extremely hard to deal with, but someone like myself who has Asperger’s or something would be neat. I was an extremely easy child to raise and I think I could raise an AS child. Unlike a normal parent, I understand AS from a personal perspective. I know what it’s like growing up unable to interract. But then again, I have to wonder if I would cause more harm than good to an AS child. Would my nurturing and understand cause them to drift too far from normality to fit in with society?

*shrug*

After that went off a show about how the brain learns came on so I watched most of that. About 10:30pm a car drives by and honks. I get so sick of people honking as they drive by. It’s so retarded to honk at someone’s house as you go by. It’s not like we’re even going to know who it was, if it was directed at us or many of our extremely social neighbors. I know some of our family members honk as they go by, but I really wish they’d stop. It’s especially annoying at 10:30PM!!!!

I am also reminded of another annoying person. Friday night I’m sitting on the couch watching “Boston Public” when I hear tires squeeling right outside our house. I panic, thinking someone is about to crash and look out the window. The person goes up the street and peels out again. Just some idiot fucking around with his little sporty car. Fucking moron. People LIVE on this street. I hate the road outside our house. It’s like no one realizes people actually live there. I wish they’d never widened the road, even if it was harder to see to pull out of our driveway, at least people couldn’t drive 85 down the street. I wish the cops would fucking listen and patrol it at night instead of in the morning too. They patrol it when the innocent people are on their way to work, not when the morons are out peeling out and racing up and down the street.

Anyway, I’m almost out of characters and I still have a whole bunch more shit to write about. So, on to the next entry…but first I need to go help someone with something work related.
