Yesterday was interesting. We started off the day with some blueberry muffins and some time on the porch with the cats. After that I showered and we made lunch.
We didn’t do a lot really, Sundays are pretty much lazy days for us unless we don’t have enough time to finish everything we started on Saturday.
I spent some quality time with Sara. I gave her a bath, she needed it. She still pee’s submissively when she meets new dogs and people and she gets pee on her tail in the process. She’d also rolled in dirt. So I did what I used to do when I was a kid. I put on my bathing suit and hopped in the shower with the dog. I got the water warmed up and turned on the shower. This is the first time we’ve washed her like this so she wasn’t sure at first but after she realized it was okay she started biting at the water like she does the rain. She made me fear for my nose though because as I was bending over her when I was rinsing her she was biting at the water running off my face. All in all she seemed to enjoy the bath, she also enjoyed biting the towel while I dried her off. She still kinda smells like dog, I’ll probably give her another bath pretty soon. I might take her to the groomer before we go to Oklahoma in October. Maybe then we won’t have to smell dog for 12 hours a day in the car. At least she’s clean, goldens are water dogs and have really oily coats, the oil makes them repel water better. That was one of the things I read about them before we got her, goldens stink faster than other dogs because of that oil.
I heard a surprising conversation when I walked through the big double doors onto the 7th floor this morning. Just as I was rounding the corner to head to my desk I heard someone say “Plane Crash” someone else replied with “When”, then I heard the first guy say “Just now, New London”. Those words send chills through your spine now. It was a small one though, they finally got more news up on it:
“GROTON, Conn. — A small plane is down in the Poquonock Bridge section of Groton. Officer David Menard said police are on the scene. He did not know whether there were injuries.” -www.ctnow.com
Anyway, I’ve got some OD’s and news and stuff to catch up on so off I go.
YIKES! Plane crashes are always scary. You can buy doggy perfume at pet stores, the kind you spray on the dog after you dry it off after a bath. The greyhounds get sprayed after they get bathed and they smell good for a whole, um, two hours!
