*sigh*

Would anyone like to take a guess as to what work related project might be annoying me?

If you said our Content Management System then you’re absolutely right, tell them what they’ve won Susan.

“A new car!!! This lovely 2003 Nissan 350ZX comes with an in dash cd player, sun-roof and a sporty interior.”

Anyway, yeah.

The Server that hosts the lovely project I’m working on is down, and has been since oh, noon YESTERDAY. There is no other work for me right now so what do I get to do today that I did all afternoon yesterday? Sit on my ass.

This, dear reader, is why I am against being forced to work not only online, but also on the same server as the final product. Anyone ever heard of a development server? Or perhaps just working offline??

I could probably be done, or mostly done, with this project if I had been able to start it after lunch yesterday, like I had planned. *sigh*

If IS had let us simply use Lotus Notes for these projects then we’d be able to work on a local replica if the servers were down. Holy smokes batman, what a concept.

Excuse me a minute.

*bangs head on desk*

So anyway.

Still no kittens, although Sophie did wake me and hubby up at 1:30am. She was next to me on her towel scratching, and scratching, and scratching at the wood underneath. I poked her back leg, she stopped, then started again. I poked her back leg again, she stopped, then started again. I lightly shoved her, she stopped, I went to the bathroom, came back and she was gone.

I think I learned my lesson about rearranging the office and bringing in new furniture at home. We successfully destroyed the heirarchy the cats had in the office. Now we have a battle for territory going on again. Mostly between the other cats and our weakest link, Victoria. Problem with this is, Vicki is extremely sensitive and now she has to regain her position in that room which took awhile last time. There’s no serious fighting or anything but occasionally Kenny, Sally and Casper will decide they need to chase Vicki off. The worst possible time they can do this is when Vicki is eating, or right after Vicki eats. Yet, this is when they tend to do it. Cats naturally vomit if their stomachs are full when they feel threatened. In the wild this is to lighten the load so they are more agile and can run faster. So due to the cats need to re-establish territory we’ve been seeing the contents of Vicki’s stomach more often than is desirable. *sigh* The joys of a multi-cat household.

I also learned that it’s going to be awhile before I can have my house the way I like it again, with all my decorations out. I moved the coffee table back out and sat out my three metal candleholders. Heh, Sara took care of clearing those for me. The tail of a happy golden retriever is a dangerous thing. I had also replaced my lace tablecloth on the dining room table and put my centerpeice, which is a large, heavy, glass candleholder, back. Yesterday morning Kenny and Sophie were chasing each other (playfully) around and over the table. The tablecloth and candleholder had been moved a significant distance. So, there goes that idea. 🙂

Anyway, I have to e-mail my mom, she wrote last night. Then I dunno what I’m going to do. Maybe CMS will no longer be broken (yeah, right).

i learn so much from you. i love it, so thank you! one of our three cats is always losing his food and now i’m certain that is has to do with him feeling threatened by the “new kid” who moved in at the beginning of the summer.
