I’m at home. I feel like shit. I was feeling uh “productive” a little bit earlier though and finished putting my desk together. About halfway through I realized I shouldn’t be doing it. I was sweating like I was working outside on a 100 degree day. I finished it though and it looks nice. I rested after that, watched some TV and ate my leftover fried rice from last night. I’m feeling okay again, about as okay as yesterday. My nose is relatively clear for the first time in 3 days but my throat still hurts. blech, sick sucks.

The desk had a couple “annoyances” I had to fix. It obviously had belonged to one of the kids, there was some “graffiti” on the cabinet doors so I removed those so it’s got an open shelf now. Also the keyboard drawer wasn’t large enough for both the keyboard and mouse so I took the shelf that is supposed to go over the monitor and turned it into a mouse shelf next to the keyboard drawer. (my monitor is too big so the shelf wouldn’t fit anyway, it’s not designed for anything over a 15 inch, I have a 17). So now my ten dollar off the side of the road desk has been customized to suit my needs. 🙂 Now all I have to do is hang the cd holders off the old desk on this one and we’ll call it done.

This is temporary pretty much. Hubby is eventually going to build desks for us. They’re going to be pretty neat. There will be one that goes the entire length of the back wall with probably 4 2-drawer file cabinets in the center. Then we’ll both have L-shaped desks that wrap around and connect to the back desk. We pretty much have that arrangement now, just with mis-matched stuff and it’s seeming to work well. We can look over and see and talk to one another pretty easily and stuff. Great for playing lan games. 🙂

Yesterday afternoon hubby comes into the bedroom carrying something from our garden. He had wrapped in a paper towel the best looking tomato we’ve gotten from our garden so far. I had to take a picture of it to tease FallingDog, who loves tomatoes! 😉 So Cyn, this pic is for you. 🙂

We got about 7 ears of corn as well. 5 of them were really small but they were done growing, the silks had turned brown. We gave the two largest one’s to our neighbor. They wanted to try some. We’ll probably eat the rest on Wednesday. The garden has turned out to be a pretty big dissapointment but we’ll take what we can get. The deer have trampled most everything. I think we’ll get a couple pumpkins, which I’ll use for homemade pumpkin pie. One looks like it might be done but I have to look up how to tell exactly. We have some more blueberries too. I’ll probably make hubby some blueberry pancakes soon, maybe this weekend, it is a nice three day weekend afterall. 🙂

Sophie was poking around in dark places again this morning. This cat, she keeps making me think she’s going to have her kittens any day and she keeps not having them. Dang it cat c’mon!! Today would be perfect since I’m home all day with hardly anything to do. I’m not too sick to deliver kittens c’mon, on with it!! hehe Maybe sometime THIS week. Definitely by the end of August. If she hasn’t had them by Sept. 1st I’m going to take her to the vet for a little kitty ultrasound. I don’t want her going past the 65 day mark, mainly because I don’t want the kittens to grow too big inside her, Sophie is a little cat, she won’t be able to birth them naturally if they grow too much.

I guess that’s about it. I should go fill my water jugs. 5 of my bettas are due for water changes.
