*bangs head on desk* The cafeteria downstairs plays the worst music. It’s horrid. I don’t even know what it is, it’s just…it’s…crap!!

So, yeah.

I’m wearing brown pants today. It’s been a good 4 years since I’ve owned a pair of pants that weren’t black. Have you any idea how weird it is to glance down and see that your pants are a different color than you’ve worn for the past 4 years??? It’s pretty weird.

I drove in to work today. I hadn’t driven the car since we got new tires put on and boy does it feel different. The car feels like it’s gliding. I was driving faster on the back-roads today and it felt “safe” unlike before. Handling is smoother, and faster even. I love these new tires compared to the peice of shit cheap Hankooks that came on the Accent. Our little Accent is even more fun to drive now. 🙂 I like that little thing. Three years ago I would have probably slapped someone for telling me to buy a Hyundai but now I’d recommend the Accent to anyone looking for a cheap, economical little car. It’s surprisingly fun to drive.

Injury count is up one more from Sophie. She bit the shit out of my thumb last night. I had been cleaning fish tanks and she wouldn’t stay off the counter. The second time I grabbed her and put her down on the floor she got all uppity about it. Do you know how fucking frustrating it is having a pain in the ass cat that’s pregnant???? It’s pretty frustrating. Why? Because you can’t just grab her and toss her down. You have to carefully pick her up and put her down. No matter how bad she’s being. I can’t just grab her around the middle and put her on the floor. I have to carefully pick her up around the chest and the bum so I don’t hurt her kittens and in the time it takes to do that she’s usually latched on to part of my hand with her teeth. If you can grab and drop the cat they usually don’t have time to latch on with their teeth. *sigh* She’ll come around though. I give her another year and she’ll be grown up and less uppity.

I’ve been doing cross-stitching again. I’ve got a cute little cat design that I started. I’d forgotten how long these take though, and I bought a pretty big one. I’m thinking about finding one to cross-stitch for my grandma. My entire life my grandma has made things for me. Growing up, I was never interested in learning how to sew or do cross stitch or make quilts. I can’t even work a sewing machine. But I’m into it more now. So I’m thinking about cross stitching something for her for a change to give to her in October. Maybe someday I’ll be able to make her a quilt too. 🙂

I had a dream about my friend Denise from high school. The dream was pretty vivid. We were playing our flutes together in the dream. After we finished playing she played a solo for me that she was going to be using to Audition for something. It made me wonder if she still plays her flute. We were in the high school marching band together when I went to Union. We used to practice together and try to play as similarly as possible so we could sit together and march next to each other in band. Surprisingly we were able to pull it off at just about every chair test. We sat together almost all year. 🙂 I usually got the higher chair. 🙂 I never told her but I usually had to intentionally flub my test a little in order to make sitting together possible. It wasn’t that she was a bad flute player or anything, I don’t want to make it sound like she was, I just had a professional flute and a better tone quality. I had two choices though, sit by people I hated in the front row and look good or sit by my best friend in the second row. Needless to say I chose my best friend. It didn’t matter how “good” I looked as a musician I wanted to by with my friend and that’s all that mattered. I got my chance to sit first chair, have solo’s, and play piccolo at Metro, my Senior year, that was enough.

*sigh* I love my flute. I’ve been working really hard on the music I got, I feel now, that I’m finally back to where I was when I left school four years ago. I do miss playing with a group sometimes. Even just one other flutist to play with would be fun. Ah well. I might try to find another group to join someday. Not right now though.

Blah blah, it’s Thursday. We have to pick up a few things at Sam’s Club tonight. Then we have to go to Agway for Chicken feed and Dog food. Sara eats more food than you can shake a stick at. Damn large breed dog. 🙂 She needs more bones too, she goes through rawhide bones like they’re going out of style. She loves em! She’ll be still if she has one of those so they’re worth it. 🙂 Hubby brought out a pigs ear for Sara last night and boy does she love those things. She plays with them like they’re another dog before devouring them. She’s a nutcase. I wish she had another dog to play with more often. We’re not getting a second dog though, no way, no how. Dogs are much more expensive and demanding than cats. Too much work. People that handle multiple dogs amaze me. I don’t even think I’d be able to deal with Sara on my own. Maybe once she’s older. Goldens are pretty much puppies for the first two years of their lives. I love dogs and all but cats don’t require nearly as much. Hell, my bettas are more work than my cats sometimes! lol

Anyway, my coffee is kicking in so I should go work now. 🙂

Dilbert cracks me up! I haven’t worn any color of pants but black for the past, oh, 30 years or so. I have a pair of red pants. I never wear them.
