Okay, maybe I can have a moment to type now.
We just got back from lunch. Went to Applebee’s. I hadn’t been there in years and hubby had never been there. I’d gone to the one in Tulsa once, like 7 or 8 years ago. The one here is brand new and smelled of new wood inside..mmmm.
Anyway, what an unusually pleasant experience that was. Our waitress was really nice. I noticed too, that all the waitstaff seemed really nice and accomodating. My only annoyance was that it was too cold in there, as it is most places. And a baby that kept screaming. I try not to let screaming babies annoy me too much. Most parents seem embarrassed enough by it and there’s not much you can do to keep a really small kid from letting out the occasional scream or getting upset. Unless the kid is downright obnoxious and the parents don’t seem to care and let it run all around it doesn’t bother me too much. It does hurt my ears though since they’re really sensitive to sounds, one reason I’ll never have a baby of my own.
*checks tracking on package* still in Rockford, IL. I’m expecting to find it in Worchester, MA sometime today. They always land there right before landing in Hartford. *taps foot* It’s supposed to arrive tomorrow. I’m really impatient when it comes to packages. I LOVE getting new things and I hate to wait. And hey, I’m itchin to be 3 inches taller!!
Which reminds me. All of my things I ordered last Friday are here now. Woot!! I got my 2 NIN cd’s, which are great additions to the collection. The $7.99 was a 2 cd one. I was shocked when the $4.79 one showed up still in it’s original shrink wrap though. I don’t think the ad said anything about that. I checked it over though and it was obviously not re-shrink wrapped, it was all in perfect condition. We got the Rain Man video yesterday, I was also surprised to find it still in it’s original shrink wrap. It only cost me $2.75. Bargain shopping baby. 🙂
I’m making my birthday list already. I want to get some geek t-shirts and tank tops from userfriendly.org. And I want the Full first and second seasons of southpark on DVD. I have all of the first season on seperate vhs tapes with three episodes per video so I dunno, I might be able to sell those on e-bay and score enough to replace it with a DVD sooner than waiting on my birthday in December. 🙂
Speaking of December. I’m looking forward to the next Lord of the Rings movie. Woot!! It’s going to be a marathon at our place watching the first two the day before we go see the second one, which we always do the day they come out. Too bad this is the last one. 🙁 Maybe they’ll re-do The Hobbit or something if this last movie does well enough. Those movies have rocked socks so far, they really did them justice.
Tomorrow night is the Marine Corps concert at the band shell. I’m looking forward to that. I love a good band concert.
My mom has started coming up with things to do when we visit in October. She wants to show hubby some of the history of Oklahoma. Cowboys and Indians. 🙂 She’s suggested the Will Rogers Museum and Cowboy Museum in Oolagah. Maybe the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City and I was going to recommend Woolaroc, can’t remember if it’s actually in or just close to Bartlesville. I was surprised my mom wanted to do all these museum things. I’ve never been to do anything even remotely educational with my mom. Mom never took me to do much except go to Wal-Mart. We’re going to go see a new aquarium that they’ve built in Broken Arrow as well while we’re there. That’ll be my favorite thing I’m sure. I LOVE fish and aquariums, I can spend hours staring into one tank. 🙂 Last time we went to the Tulsa Zoo which has improved GREATLY since I left Tulsa, beautiful now it is.
I want my mom and step-dad to come here really bad. Last time my mom only came so we didn’t do a lot of the stuff I’d want to take my step-dad to do. Y’see he was in the Navy (stationed in Rhode Island) and there’s lots of Navy stuff to see here, Submarine’s in Groton and stuff. I’d like to take them down to Mystic Seaport too, beautiful. I’m hoping maybe they’ll be able to make it up here next spring or something. I know mom wants to see the house and stuff and there’s new kitties for her to meet!!
My dad hasn’t been up here since I moved up here either but he keeps talking about moving up here????!! I dunno if he’s serious or not, sometimes he sounds it, other times he’s kidding. When his depression gets really bad he talks more about just selling his shop and moving up here. I think he might up and do it someday, but not while his parents are still around I wouldn’t think, they rely pretty heavily on him. I think my dad would drive me insane if he lived up here but I also think he could do well up here for himself. Him and my hubbys dad get along really well and stuff and I think my dad would do well living in the same town as hubbys dad. Not only is it a big Harley Davidson town but they have a NASCAR track there. Dad loves racing, he’s done custom work on cars his friends drive. AND he is wicked in to Harleys, he’s done a lot of custom work on them too, even shown them and stuff back when I was really little. He could probably open a shop here and do well.
I was going to try to convince my mom to take one of Sophie’s kittens thinking we could bring it to her when we visited but then I realized “Do I really want to drive all the way to Tulsa with a kitten???” I’m already driving home with a cat. We’re bringing my step-sisters cat back to CT with us, then she’s going to drive down from Maine to pick it up from us. I’ve traveled with a cat that far before when I moved Casper to CT from Tulsa, it wasn’t too bad so I’m not too worried. Luckily we’re going in October when the weather is not so hot. My fear traveling with pets was that we wouldn’t be able to go in anywhere and leave them in the car if it was hot, but in October we won’t have as much to worry about. It’s not like we’ll be stopping for huge meals at restaurants or anything like that but sometimes even stopping for a bathroom break can take 15 mins or so.
anyway, *looks around desk* I should probably get this software up to the mailroom and get these forms into the forms database.
