*sigh* It’s Friday, and yes, I’m still at home. 🙂 Hubby is still sick and why the hell would I go into work for one day when I’m not even feeling 100% better? I would say I’m feeling 80% better though. Still stuffy and coughy today but that’s about the extent of it.

I went to the grocery store this morning, alone!

I stopped at the bank on the way to the grocery store, had to go through the drive up ATM. I hate this particular drive up ATM. Once it shorted me 20 bucks so I had to go inside the bank and convince the people in there that the ATM had REALLY shorted me 20 bucks. They seemed suspicious at first but I think the desperate, frightened, look on my face convinced them I was telling the truth. Hey, 20 bucks is a lot to me, I don’t have a lot of money and that’s like enough to pay for a tank of gas!! Said 20 bucks was deposited into my account within a week. Anyway, I put my card in today, punched in the necessary info on the screen, took my cash, receipt and waited while the thing made the “don’t forget your card” beeping noise. My card wasn’t coming out!! I waited….waited. “Fuck” I thought to myself, “Now I’m going to have to go into the bank and tell the people the ATM ate my damn ATM card”. Then all of a sudden out popped my ATM card! “PHEW!!” On to the grocery store I went. While I was there I decided to get my mom a Mother’s Day card. I had intended to do it earlier in the week but that was before I got sick. I found a cute one with a kitty on it that says “May happiness pad softly into your life today and curl up in contentment to purr on your doorstep forever.” My Mother and I are both cat lovers, big time! hehe Anyway, I smiled, put the card in my cart and an old man looked over at me and said “I don’t know how you pick those out”. I chuckled at him and said “Yeah, it’s tough”. I normally take FOREVER to find a card. I’ve taken half an hour of longer before, sometimes I even get teary eyed, especially if I’m looking for like an anniversary card for hubby. I’m a big sap, I can’t help it. Today I got lucky. 🙂

I spent extra time looking at stuff today, during the day the grocery store is very quiet so I enjoyed it. I looked at hair clips, makeup, all kinds of stuff. Didn’t buy any though, without “extra’s” I spent $99.61 this week out of our weekly $100.00 grocery budget. 🙂 While in line I listened to the checker and bagger complain about how many pairs of pants they had to purchase a month. Apparently things spill and leak so often they ruin a lot of pants just working as checkers. Who’d have thought? The bagger left a box of tissue’s teetering precariously on top of something, barely in one of the bags, it was near the edge. I decided since it was just a box of tissue’s I’d see how far it could make it without falling out of the cart. It made it to the car. I loaded up the car, returned the cart to it’s spot in the cart return and got in the car to drive home.

I wish it’d get warm and stay warm. I’m sitting here in the office with a tank top on and my shoulders are chilly. It’s MAY! C’mon warm weather, mama needs the water in the pathetipool warmed up!! *sigh* 40’s and 60’s all week. The pathetipool is never going to reach a comfortable 82 degree’s.

Ah well, I’m rambling aren’t I? I’m sure no one really cares about my boring trip to the grocery store, especially in as much detail as I’ve given. lol, but hell, it’s the only thing I’ll probably do today! Guess I’ll see if hubby is up for a game of Risk yet. 😉

You sure do know how to make a trip to the grocery store interesting! This is a really great entry! It was so much fun to read; I could just imagine you in the store with the old man saying something to you and listening to the baggers–I’d have never guessed about the pants!–and testing yourself on the Kleenex! That cracked me up! I’m not as creative as you when it comes to shopping.
