So, I’m still at home today. Still sick although feeling slightly better. At least I’m not afraid to be in a different room than my precious nose drops. I’m slowly recovering from my nose drop dependency. 🙂
I’m hoping I might be able to actually like, go to work tomorrow. We’ll see. Hubby thinks he might be getting sick so if he stays home I’ll be home too. I’m not comfortable driving to and from Hartford in weekday work traffic alone.
I never mentioned I got stung by a wasp on Sunday. Yepp, hubby and I were chillin in the pathetipool. I put my arms behind me so I could move them back forward through the water and as I was doing that I felt a sting on my right hand. I lifted it up and sure enough, there’s a tiny little wasp laying on my hand. He wasn’t very big at all but my hand still swelled up pretty fast. We got out of the pool and hubby put some meat tenderizer on it. Within a few minutes the swelling and stinging was completely gone. Now all I have is an itchy red bump that looks like a mosquito bite.
We have a wasp problem, and we’re not talking a little wasp problem. We’ve got at least 2 different kinds of wasps, plus little bee’s, big fat bumblebee’s and last year we had white faced hornets. Those little fucks are nasty. I mentioned when it happened that we turned on the back porch light to go to the chicken coop, came back and there were like 20 white faced hornets on our porch, and more on their way from the nest. I later did some research on the internet and found out the little bastards are attracted to light. When the leaves fell off the tree in fall we saw a HUGE nest they had built right out in the tree above our badminton net. Lovely!!
Sunday I was literally drowning wasps with the pool skimmer in sara’s pool so I could get them out and she could play in it. While I was drowning the one’s that were in there at least 5 more ended up in there. It’s insane. I’ve never seen so damn many wasps in one place!
We’ve got traps out but they aren’t going to work miracle’s. We’re looking into this really thick grass that’s supposed to help control bugs, that at least might solve our ground wasp problem, which is the biggest problem.
Not a lot else going on in my part of the world. Just hangin out, snifflin, sneezin and wishin I had something to do. 🙂
Maybe that’s why you’ve been sick–are you allergic to wasps? I hate those damned things! They sting like a mofo!!!! At least bees have the good grace to DIE after they sting you, but not wasps! Oh, no–they just come back for more stinging!
