Last night, 11:00pm, can you guess what happened?

Give up?

I’m laying in bed watching Pet Star on Animal Planet (hubby is downstairs playing D&D with the guys). I hear car tires in the gravel (actually it’s leftover road sand from the winter) then silence. Yet another person driving too fast in the dark on our road ended up hitting a telephone pole and landing in the ditch. A couple cars stopped to help immediatly and within minutes there were more cops, firetrucks and ambulences on the scene than you could shake a stick at.

11:40 – I’m laying in bed once again watching Pet Star on animal planet. When all of a sudden, darkness fills the room and the television shuts itself off. In the darkness I hear the D&D guys start yelling silly shit about how hubby is plotting to kill them. 🙂

CL&P has shut off the power so they can fix the downed power lines.

I make my way downstairs to find a flashlight, then back upstairs to find candles and a lighter. Hubby and the D&D guys finish their game by our battery powered camping lantern.

12:52am – I’m laying in bed with nothing to do. No computer, no tv, just silence and flashing lights from outside. The D&D guys finally finish up and leave. Hubby and I make our way outside to make sure our property was in okay shape since I’d heard all kinds of gravel hitting our house when the car lost control.

1:04am – Hubby takes Sara out for one last potty break by the light of the battery powered lantern.

1:05am – The power comes back on and I flip on the outside flood light to surprise hubby.

1:08am – Our tired asses go to bed.
