So lately our weekends are pretty much taken up by Sara. She spends so much time crated during the week that we feel a definate need to spend a ton of time with her on the weekends. She still gets in to a TON of trouble out of her crate so any time we can’t watch her we have to keep her crated. Once she’s fully potty trained and not chasing cats she’ll be able to be out a lot more.

I e-mailed my mom this weekend about some of our problem areas with Sara. She talks to my step-dad who knows all there is to know about raising goldens. They agree that she’s about where she should be and that it sounds like she’s doing well. That’s good to hear because my biggest fear is screwing up with her. Her next vet visit is this Friday at 4pm. She gets more puppy shots and a check-up, we’ll see how she’s doing physically then and prolly check with the vet on when to start using frontline. I know dogs have to be at least 12 weeks old for that but I’m not sure what time of year is best to start it. I definatly don’t want her bringing fleas inside and Lyme disease is a big issue around here, Lyme Disease was first reported in Lyme Connecticut y’know. 🙂

We’ve got to upsize the car crate now. Sara has almost outgrown the cat carrier. Her adult crate won’t fit in the car and we’ve pretty much decided that instead of the seatbelt route we’re going to go the kennel in the car route. We were kind of hoping to find something cheap and used but it’s not looking good so I’m going to check the Petco site. Or perhaps I should check e-bay first.

Sunday we took Sara over to meet Daphne, my mother in laws dog. This is the pound dog we got that attacked Kenny. We gave to her as a mothers day gift since her dog had died a few months before. She had started talking about looking again for another one. I was a little nervous about her and Sara playing but she actually played pretty gentle with Sara. There was one yelp from Sara when Daphne bit a little too hard but after that Daphne pretty much quit biting Sara at all.

Our neighbor (the one that watches our pets) finally dropped by to see Sara while we were outside on Saturday. I was sooooo hoping that if they babysat Sara they’d keep her at their house instead of ours so she can ‘be with’ someone instead of all alone in the house. I wasn’t sure what they’d want to do but she was playing with her and said “and you’re welcome to come over and stay any time Sara”. So, hehe, I guess from that, if they babysit her they’ll be planning on keeping her at their place. 🙂 They love babysitting our animals and are constantly begging us to go on vacation. I’m not sure if we’ll be taking her on our May trip or not. Kind of depends on what we decide to do. If we just to go the beach we’ll take her, I already found some pet friendly hotels at the beach we usually go to in Maine. But if we get raises like we’re hoping we might decide to FINALLY go to Canada instead. We’d planned to go to Canada last August, I was going to meet up with some people I knew from a Siamese Fighting Fish Message Board at a Siamese Fighting Fish show in Canada! They, of course, don’t fight their fighting fish but show off their beaty instead. Fighting Siamese Fighting Fish = Bad.

So anyway, without further ado, here are some of my favorite Sara pictures from the weekend. 🙂

I just cannot get over what a cute dog she is!!!! That puppy shot, the one you’re using for your background, is so adorable I just want to sit here and stare at it. Daphne is cute, too. She looks as if she has some collie in her.
