*yawn* I’ve been awake since 4am. I had to get up to go to the bathroom and when I went to move my foot out of the bed I kicked our cat Kenny. I felt so bad so I snuggled him and loved on him, went the the bathroom and came back and loved on him some more. Then I had to move him down to the end of the bed so I could lay back down. He’s funny because when he’s laying down you can slide your hands under him, pick him up, and move him and put him down in the same position. He just goes right back to sleep. When I layed back down Casper came bounding over me and curled up beside me and purred. Sally was sleeping down by hubbys feet. I love our cats but I was so awake that I just spent the next hour and a half laying there listening to Casper purr and plows going by.
It snowed, but not enough to close work, yet anyway. It’s supposed to snow all day so they’ll probably close at 3 again and screw me like last time. That’s when I fucking leave anyway.
We found the green anole. Well, hubby did. She was dead on the kitchen floor this morning. Needless to say we won’t be getting any more anole’s. Hubby is going to wait until we can afford a really big setup for a lizard that’s like the same size as the cats, or close. Something in a cage that they can’t knock over and something they won’t even want to fuck around with. We really thought they’d be okay. I mean hell, they don’t bother the fish, they don’t bother the hamsters. They will watch the hamsters somewhat, well, kenny will, sally is terrified of them which is pretty fucking funny in my opinion. Here she is our big tough cat, picks on 2 of our cats, she’ll reach her paw out and slap at me if I punish her even but show her a hamster and she can’t back up fast enough.
We get to see our puppy tomorrow. To be honest I’m really nervous. What if they don’t like us, stuff like that. What if they don’t think we’re good enough to take one of their puppies. I don’t feel like I make very good first impressions on people. We’re probably fine though, hubby makes good first impressions and they didn’t say anything about the questionaire we filled out to reserve a puppy. I know so many breeders are really picky. Our house is big enough for a dog, we have 12 acres and a pond, goldens usually love water so that’s a plus. We don’t have a fence though. There was a really shitty fence when we moved in put we tore it out. A lot of breeders get crappy when you don’t have a fence even if you do have a ton of land. Eh, who knows, I do want to put a fence in but it’s not something we can afford right now. Eventually we want to fence all our property in to keep unwanted trespassers out. That’s the thing with having a lot of land, you have to chase people off it b/c they assume your property ends at the tree line and shit like that. In the spring we’re going to have to buy fencing for our garden so we can probably make the puppy a pen then. The puppy will have so much hiking and stuff to do with us that he’ll probably not need his pen too often. Oh, now I’m all excited again, gonna have a little fuzzy hiking partner. I have got to quit thinking about the puppy. 🙂 Feb 10th – March 3rd are going to be pure torture!!
Anyway, I’ve been sitting at my desk for an hour and a half, work might close early if the snow keeps up so I should probably get something done.
Oh, how sad about your lizard! I love lizards and snakes; poor little thing. And how funny about your hamster-hating cat! I’ll bet you are really excited and I can’t wait to hear about your excursion!!!!! You’ll fall in love with every last puppy there, I just know it. It will be so hard to pick just one!
